Much better than expected!
I had not been convinced about all the hype about foundation primer. But this one changed my mind. It makes a difference, and it works for both liquid and powder foundation. This primer feels a bit watery at first, but it goes on smooth on my facial skin. So why not giving the perfect score? I have not tried this primer during hot and humid summer yet. If it works in summer, I'll know for sure that this would work all year long. Also, it smells funky. good for oily skin
oil free, so it works for both dry skin and oily skin. If you have oily skin, the primer will keep your face grease from mixing with your foundation and changing it's color or making it slide off. If you have dry skin it will keep the powder ingredients in your makeup from sinking into pores or fine lines and holds in your skin's moisture. This formula looks like a cream, but seems to transform into a gel as you smooth it on. I find this one to be most effective if you ignore the "apply liberally" directive and use a light touch- just enough to cover the skin but not so much that it doesn't 'settle in'. I learned a cool tip too- store your primer in the fridge and it will work even better to tighten pores, refresh your skin, reduce redness and puffiness, and in the summer will feel faboo! I will say that the one thing I do not like about this primer is the scent. Helps with redness!

Great Staple

Didn't Like
I got this as a large size sample and had been dying to try it but I sure was disappointed. For one thing, I didn't realize it was tinted and the color was way off for my complextion. It did not "glide" on as others have described but was rather dry. On top of that, when I applied my foundation over it, the makeup started rolling everything up into little balls. Pretty Good Stuff
I have been using Mercier tinted foundation for so long I can't remember. I have the primer, figuring it would be wonderful, but it just isn't my favorite. It seems a bit dryer on my older skin so I prefer SmashBox.
