Primer for hair?
I love Aveda products and have been a loyal consumer; however, I just don't get the "style prep" products. It reminds me of a primer for foundation; if you are using a good quality foundation and the right formula for your skin type, a primer shouldn't be needed. This product helps to remove frizzies, but does nothing else. If you find a good quality product to eliminate frizzies, smooth AND straighten, you would use only one product rather than two. Although this is more helpful than the Be Curly Style Prep, I was unimpressed and would rather stick with a product that can do more than one thing. THIS WORKS AWESOME!!
I just purchased this for the first time yesterday when I got my haircut. My hairdresser used it before she started to blow-dry/straighten my hair and the end result was amazing! I have VERY thick, naturally curly hair and when I saw the size of the amount she pumped into her hand, I started laughing to myself (thinking that it wasn't NEARLY enough!). Well was I ever wrong!! She emulsified the product in her hands (by rubbing them vigorously) and then smoothed it through my hair and proceeded to blow-dry and then straight iron my hair. That saying "a little goes a LONG way" truly applies to this product. I was so happy with how my hair looked at the end that I bought this!! My hairdresser told me that it can be used on damp hair OR dry hair (it will smooth any frizzies or flyaways but keep in mind it's not a styling cream so it has no hold). I knew the true test would come when I had to use it (because I always feel that my hair looks a lot better when a professional does it) but surprisingly when I re-straightened my hair today, it came out exactly the way it did when my hairdresser did it!!!!! I paid $24 for the bottle (and I checked online when I got home and this is the actual price of it no matter where you go) but since you don't need a lot of it, I can see it lasting me a very long time! One of my favorite products ever!!

Smooth and straight
This entire line of Aveda's is fantastic. I have been very satisfied with the smooth silky results. My hair styles without the "frizzies" and my cuticles do not rough up as the day goes on - in fact, that aspect lasts from wash to wash about every 4 days.
