Pond's is an Effective Must-Use!
Just the name "Pond's" conjures an image of my beautiful grandmother using this nightly before washing her face. I would sit on her bed and watch her, fascinated, enjoying the signature scent. Her skin was flawless even into her eighties. Many years later, when I did local modeling and attended modeling school, did I learn the reason for the use of cold cream: Lipids bond with lipids. In order to draw out every impurity and trace of makeup (and I used tons of makeup at that time--heavy, professional products made for the camera), soap and cleansers alone don't do a complete job. (Another image just came to mind--Bette Davis sitting at her dressing table in "All About Eve," slathering cleansing cream over her entire face in front of a number of friends.) Pond's "Cold Cream Cleanser" is thick, but it is wonderfully refreshing, ultimately feminine, and leaves your face moisturized and velvety. It is part of my nightly regimen to remove not only makeup (including stubborn waterproof eye products), but also imbedded oil and grit from the day (okay, so I cheat when I travel and use makeup-removing towelettes). Pond's
After years of searching high and low, doing research and trying many face creams, both inexpensive ad high-end, I have decided to go back to the basics. My skin is fairly sensitive, and tends to dry out on the cheeks and around my mouth. I have been using Pond's for about a week now and so far, I am very happy with the results. it leaves my skin very soft and smooth, and the tone of my skin has evened out quite a bit. I have not experienced any irritation or breakouts since using this product, which is great! I find the scent to be light and refreshing, and the texture of the cream is very rich and smooth. I want to like it, but I'm not sure it's the right product for me.
I use Pond's Cold Cream strictly as an eye makeup remover. I dab a glob onto my eyelashes and massage it in, making sure the lashes are generously coated. I wipe my hands, brush my teeth, and then use some cotton pads to wipe off the cold cream. I then cleanse my entire face really well with Clinique Foaming Cleanser (which is really good at getting most of the cold cream residue off), and then cleanse again with Cetaphil. I probably didn't get breakouts like other reviewers, because of the two cleansers I used afterwards. PROS: Cheap. Smells nice. When using the method above, did a good job of removing eye makeup. Didn't burn my eyes (because of Accutane, my eyes were really really sensitive for awhile, and stung after using makeup removers). CONS: The little jar is difficult to get into. I have to be really careful to remove it with my other cleansers afterwards (although I always use two cleansers, to make sure I get off all of my foundation and primer!) Oldie but Goodie

I use this to remove stubborn make up only! I can't get this all over my face or it will turn me into an oil slick. Nightmare
I thought I'd try this because it was cheap and easy to get at the drug store. I was so wrong to put it on my face! The fragrance and the mineral oils must have caused the reaction. My face broke out and swelled and my eyes swelled so they were practically shut. It was an absolute nightmare! If you have sensitive skin, it's best to stick with Aveeno and Clinique and pay the few bucks more. Simple, inexpensive, does the job
My grandmother recommended this to me and I was skeptical at first. I have sensitive, oily, acne-prone skin and I had to learn the hard way that just because its expensive doesn't necessarily mean it works better. I use this remove make up and then follow up with a cleanser. My skin feels soft AND clean...not just clean and dry. It doesn't leave my skin greasy at all. good bye mascara residue
I grew up watching my mother use this and I always thought it looked like too much work. Now, I know the importance of being extra gentle to the eye area and this is my partner in crime for that task.
