Has good and bad points

This lip stain has its good and bad. Laura Mercier has good products as a whole so I was expecting more from this product. For one, it's application can be messy unless you use a lip brush. Not everyone wants to tote a lip brush along with them. It is also a rather dry texture, drier than other stains out there. The stain also made my lips feel dry like I needed a balm on top of this. The color was nice but didn't wear or fade evenly. It did do better when mixed with a balm. The result was a nice, sheer color wash on my lips. I have to admit; I was suckered into buying this due to a fantastic review in Lucky magazine. It told me that I'd look like a chic French girl. I loved that. And you know what, it's not bad. Not bad at all. I tried the sugar blossom shade and the stain is a very pretty, sheer color that you can easily layer to make deeper but is a tad drying; it won't "stick" to anything but bare lips, though, so apply a balm or gloss after appplying. It does make your lips look full and sort of velvety and matte; perfect for a soft kind of retro look. As far as the French girl goes...
