    Good and Bad

    maya_brannan (17 reviews)
Lets start with the good: The colors are gorgeous and the quantity of the product is great for it's price. I think it paid $20 for mine. Because I have darker lips, I bought the one in Mulberry and it does actually look very nice and natural, especially when I just use my ring finger to apply it instead of with a lip brush. I also like this because I can lightly use it as a cheek stain on my days where I'm running late. The negative is that on my lips, it doesn't last very long. I would assume that since Laura Mercier (and company) calls it a "stain", it would actually be a "stain" and last longer than a couple of hours. It wears off pretty quickly, and I really don't think that there's a whole lot of variety in the color choices. I used Mulberry on my cousin who has just a tad bit lighter skin than I do, but same color lips, and it just totally looked wrong on her. I don't know, maybe that's not their fault, but for $20 a pop, I wish it would last longer. — 3 months, 2 weeks ago

    Insanely awesome!!

I am in love. It works on everyone!! I have mulberry which depending on skin color could be a red lip or a reddy-brown color. It is very build-able but doesn't stain lips for days — 7 months, 3 weeks ago

    Rich Color, Long Lasting Stay

    Kamala_Kirk (43 reviews)
I love this lip tint in the red. Typically I'll warm it up by rubbing my index finger on top of the lip stuff for a few minutes to make it softer and easier to apply. The red is a gorgeous shade and pretty dramatic in color. You can dab it on lightly, layer for more color, cover with gloss to soften it, or just put it on by itself. It's creamy and I really like it. But sometimes it can be slightly inconvenient due to the fact that you either need to use your finger (then wash it well afterwards) or use a lip brush. — 10 months, 3 weeks ago

This is more like a long wearing lip stick

    Sandybeaches (1 reviews)
I happen to be using this "lip stain", purchased at Sephora, now. I would NOT rate it as the worst by any means, It goes on smooth (using a lip brush), does not pull my lips at all like the article says, and it will last a few hours as long as you don't lick your lips a lot or eat. However, I would not call it a lip stain, as a lip stain actually stains your lips and leaves the color "stained" on your lips all day. It is more like a long wearing lip stick. I actually like it better than some of the lip stains I've used that go on and dry to a chalky, bone dry feeling, that you then have to apply a clear shine over the top every hour or so, just to get some feeling of moisture, or your entire mouth feels chalky! I would rate this higher if it actually "stained" my lips, which it does not. Hope this helps. — 1 year, 5 months ago

    drying

I found this to be drying and would tranfer to anything, did not stay put. Looked too artificial and hard to apply, not to mention pricey. — 2 years, 7 months ago

Just ok in my eyes, a bit drying. I have the mocha and the color is nice and stays but I have to keep applying a clear gloss to keep the shine and keep my lips from drying — 3 years ago

    Not So Great

    areyoulatetoo (1 reviews)
After I ordered this lip stain, I was so excited for it's arrival. I had used the two part lip colors by Max Factor and Cover Girl that stay on fairly well (3-4 hours) and was really hoping for something better. I truly want something I can wear ALL day and not reapply. I want something that I will also be able to add a moisturizing top coat, so my lips don't look so dry. Well, this product had a beautiful color and I loved it for the whole hour it lasted. I've tried it with and with out a layer of lip balm over it, and it doesn't stay on any longer either way. I was sadly disappointed. — 3 years, 10 months ago
