Now I'm spoiled!

by AgingBeauty (2 reviews)
I haven't used a MF product in decades. I was a huge fan "back in the day" ('70-'80s) when Max Factor and Revlon were THE makeup trendsetters; how I looked forward to their new promotions and shades! But MF has been so low-key and lackluster, I've had no interest. A dear makeup buddy sent me a tube of this mascara, and I must tell you I was rather afraid to put this spiked wand near my eyes! Now that I have mastered it, I am spoiled and can't use traditional bristle-brushed mascaras anymore! I am SO surprised and delighted by this mascara. I get gorgeous results with 2 coats, letting...10/16/2007

I didn't realize just how great this mascara was until I used it. It was literally sitting in my make-up bag un-touched. Now I can't put it down. It makes my lashed fuller and longer. My lashes are normally blonde, so as you can imagine I like the coat them. The wand that comes with this mascara really evenly distributes the product and spaces lashes perfectly! It also doesn't dry out quickly. I love it! April 27, 2008, 4:18 pm

I keep coming back to this one.

Max Factor came up with the plastic brush thing long before the other drugstore brands followed....I have over 30 mascaras. And this one is one of my favorites. I do stray but I always come back to this one.... This makes my lashes long, thick-and gorgeous. I apply many coats and comb in between. Doesn't flake. Doesn't smudge. And doesn't irritate my eyes. I have even been asked if my lashes were fake after my many coats and combing in between. I don't use an eyelash curler but this seems to life my lashes and they saty put. A keeper. Movie Star Mascara

December 15, 2007, 12:52 am The first tube of this I bought dried out kind of quickly, but I repurchased from Ulta instead of Wal-Mart and I haven't had any problems since. I love this mascara (I have three tubes of it at the moment, that kind of circulate around with me, so I'm never without it). I have fine lashes that are average length, and this gives me what I call my "movie star eyelashes." They don't look quite fake IMO, but they look really full and long. The other day my DH actually stopped and asked me if I was wearing fake lashes though. I use this right after my Shiseido eyelash curler, and it holds up very well in my opinion. My lashes stay relatively curled till I go to bed at night and I don't have any problems with flaking, smearing, or smudging; I don't often coat my lower lashes but I do tend to rub my eyes and use eye drops for my contacts. Before I apply this I wipe the wand on the back of my hand to remove any excess, and that seems to go a long way to eliminating clumpies. Other than that, I haven't noticed any clumping problems unless I'm really layering it on, but even then it's nothing a spare spooly can't fix. For me this has become a staple and I'm fast becoming reluctant to purchase anything else. December 15, 2007, 12:52 am

    One, Two, Voila!

May 13, 2008, 5:28 am This is a decent everyday mascara, while it isn't exactly a glam factor as it manifests, it does deliver a hint of length and volume with a swipe or two. While it's a drug store brand, I'm happy to say it does outperform quite a few department store regulars. A swipe or two of this and you're done, even more can give you a faux lash effect but it can stick together and clump so there's the minus points right there. For a price of around six to eight dollars, this is a deal for a good mascara with chic casing, because I'm hesitant to keep anything ultra bright in my see-through Sephora makeup bag for some reason, this is minimal but very fashionable to keep. Excellent Brown!

March 21, 2008, 2:28 pm The Auburn colored version (seems to be the same color as the "Deep Auburn" in the 2000 Calorie line, which is also tops), is a fantastic shade. It is the only brown mascara I've found that is really truly brown, so much so that it is slightly red! But this doesn't come across as flashy at all. It just seems to magically sink into my lashes and make them the color they should be (I am an auburn redhead). The application is also perfectly fine. One coat is plenty, and with one coat the clump issue can be easily minimized. If you love brown mascara and are tired of the "black/brown" cop-out of most brands, this is for you! November 30, 2007, 7:04 am I had always been a hardcore Maybelline Volume Express user and dcided to try Max Factor Volume couture when I had a coupon for it. I was kinda skeptical at first because of the weird plastic bristle brush bu after trying it for the first time, I was amazed! Not only did it work better than my old brand but it only took one coat rather than my usual 3 to get the same results!! This stuff is fabulous!!! I love it and it comes in lots of colors to fit everyone's face. I am very pleased with this product and if you are looking for mega volume, this is a great prouct for you! And as an added bonus, it only costs about $7. November 30, 2007, 7:04 am

    BEST!

This is by far the best mascara I've ever used. I buy two of them every time I make it to wal-mart! I've read reviews on Dior's and tried it out myself. It definatly does not compare to MF. This mascara lengthens and enhances my natural lashes. There are never clumps and the brush is very easy to handle, esp for the bottom lashes. May 31, 2008, 3:04 pm

    volume and length wow!

    by Racheb (3 reviews)
I love this mascara. As a former Diorshow mascara fan I was tired of the price tag and flaking. I tried Max Factor Volume couture and fell in love. I have fairly long lashes but this adds volume and length and fans them out and does not smudge on me. I get compliments all the time. December 12, 2007, 2:15 pm
