Make Up For Ever Mat Velvet + Matifying Foundation Reviews

Maybe hg
I've been looking for a foundation or concealer to use just on trouble spots that will last all day, cover everything, not make me break out and look natural. So far this fits the bill. I can't say if it will break me out or not though because I just got it but I'll update. You have to work in sections as once it's dry, it's not going anywhere. — 1 year, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 3 people said helpful

Has Pros and Cons
This is a good coverage foundation in most aspects. When used sparingly it is not too heavy. The downside is that oily break-through will occur if you have particularly oily skin. The application of powder on top of the foundation to take away shine can cause cakiness and result in a heavy looking coverage. Blotting papers can help somewhat but the product will not look freshly applied due to the oiliness and uneveness in colour can occur. Normal to slightly oily skin should have no problem. — 5 years, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 6 of 10 people said helpful

Photoshoot Staple
I've read quite a few reviews about this being a heavy foundation which isn't necessarily true if it used over a moisturizer. It may accentuate dry flakes if the skin isn't well hydrated but if the skin has been nourished pre-application, this gives a very flawless finish. I dislike the fact that after twisting off the cap, you get this squeeze tip that may leak because of the pressure build up from shaking this foundation. The bottle is quite thin but I like that it's plastic so that if it gets knocked off a counter somehow, it'll hold it's form. The benefit about this foundation is that I can highly recommend for the spotlight or camera ready people. This appears flawless and has an airbrush effect on photos and it doesn't wash out it's own color when reflected to bright lights. I know many women complain about their photos looking a bit pale because of the contents of their foundation. The best way to apply this is to start with a very thin layer of foundation, let it set and if you believe you need more coverage, repeat the process. Applying a clump of foundation all at once will cause the "cakey" effects and may even leave streaks of color in your face. Which is another tip I have to add, please buff this with setting powder because it may look a bit uneven when not blended thoroughly but buffing it out smoothens the look of pores and uneven color or texture. I've actually used this for three months and it's comparison is the MAC Studio Fix Fluid. The con of this product is the color selection, I know of many women who need more pink undertones or more yellow to olive undertones and this foundation is more neutral, somewhere in between so there has been quite a number that hasn't found the perfect shade yet. For the heavy price tags comes a reward; this will last quite a while. You need just a small pea size amount to give the facial area a good coverage and another for full coverage. The quality of this makeup is superb especially because it has been engineered by Dany Sanz, a french makeup artist herself and actually uses this on her clients. I also like that this makeup isn't hyped up in the moment to endorse itself like other major cosmetic companies but yet this is still popular which proves that this can live up to it's own potential without heavy marketing and media influence; it sells itself. — 5 years, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 25 of 30 people said helpful

Hard to work with
I'd heard so many great reviews about this foundation but when I tried it I found it too hard to work with and the coverage wasn't as "full" as it was said to be. — 1 year, 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

A must have for an oily face!
I am in love with this foundation. I've tried at least a dozen and this one is by far my favorite. The coverage is medium to high, it stays on all day and it is very resistant to an oily face. The best bit is that it has a VERY matte finish. The only draw back for me is that I was actually between the two lowest colors so I had to choose between one that was slightly too light and slightly too dark for me, again this was VERY slight. So, if they could maybe add a few more colors to the lot I'd say this foundation is perfect. I am absolutely in love with this product and have no plans on changing foundations any time soon. — 6 days, 13 hours agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Good but not the best
I have been using Revlon's Colorstay foundation for a long time, so I decided to give a chance to makeup forever (I love their eyeshadows). After to make a research (here in total beauty) I bought this foundation, telling the true I really do not feel nothing special in my skin, it has good coverage but for the price I was expecting more. In my opinion it's just same as my old foundation, but for the price, I will come back to Revlon. — 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Go to foundation.....
This foundation has such an awesome array of colors, pigmentation is great, and the staying power is devine. great for oily skin and non oliy. I also do use the HD which is more hydrating but i do find that foundation doesnt have the staying power that people want. May Brides love & request this foundation. Please make sure you use your Beauty Blender sponge ladies it does make all the diiference! — 7 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

Top 3
I love this product, because it has staying power for people with oily skin. I would use good exfoliation with this because it will show your dead skin or dry patches. This foundation will hold up very well on events that are outside because it will hold up if you sweat. I love wearing this when I am going out for a special event or anything I need to have my face last all night. I do not have to touch up for at least 5-8 hours depending on what I am doing and the weather great for bridal makeup as well. — 10 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful
