I love this lip balm! It's great alone for just a hint of color. I also like to dab it on over a matte red lipstick to tone down the color just a bit and give it some shine. It doesn't stay on all that long, but most balms I've used don't. Here's a tip I suggest when using this lip balm: take something long and firm, like the end of a spoon or a chopstick, anything you can use to stir, and dig into the pot and stir everything up until you get a soft mixture going. Then dip your finger in and rub on your lips! This trick makes the balm easier to apply and it shows up more and lasts longer. okay balm but great color!

I don't actually think this is the most useful lip balm. Consequently, I layer it with a colorless balm, or a lip treatment, that does make my lips soft (usually the Mavala stick or the Lisa Hoffman daytime lip treatment) and then I put this on for the rest of the day. I carry this around and reapply...it's the best color! It DOES keep my lips somewhat softened, I just don't think it can do the job all on its own.
