Be quick and it will be beautiful!

I have tried many other fake tan items out there but most have given me an orange hue. This one doesn't do that at all. I am pretty fair skinned. It gives a beautiful natural color! One thing about it though is you have to be quick!! If you are slow it fades to quickly and you won't be able to see where you just went and en...d up crossing back over and then you will have darker places. Wear gloves! Your hands will stain and they don't stain pretty lol. Also try not to get it on your clothes because just like any other sunless tanner it will stain. I did notice some color in the bottom of the tub while I showered but it was only excess that wasn't absorbed into my skin and the tan was still beautiful when I was done. It's is definitely worth the money for me and worked quite well for me. The one time I didn't have gloves what I did was applied it to my lower leg quickly then washed my hands, then I applied to my upper leg then washed my hands, applied to belly washed hands, chest washed hands, upper arm washed hands, lower arm and top of my hand and carefully washed my hands. I applied very quickly and thankfully I didn't have stains on my hands. Oh and be careful around ankles because it will tend to look darker in areas like that and if you have any dry areas on your body. Despite all the cons of gloves, hand washing, staining, the pro of a beautiful color out weighs those by so much for me as I never go out in the sun because I want to be a hot grandma one day lol. You gotta have patience, and an extra hand

If you buy this, be prepared to exfoliate, use latex gloves to apply, get someone to do your back, and rub in well!!! Otherwise you will streak and get spots on your elbows, knees etc. It smells nice at first, but by the end of the day it smells like an other self tanner-yucky. If you have the patience and use it properl...y it gives you a really nice brown glow, which was great since I normally turn orange. I prefer l'oreal sublime daily moisturizer, it's much more forgiving. November 13, 2007, 7:53 am

    Faux Tan on hands

    by tweeter (1 review)
A little of your favorite body scrub to get this off your hands after applying to legs is ALOT nicer than SOFT-SCRUB! It's a terrific color after washing off the original application. I put it ob at night and shower in the AM, never comes off on my sheets and no "orange" tinge either. June 19, 2009, 6:49 am

    Brunette with fair skin

    by brichead (1 review)
I purchased this from a Sephora store in city. I was sold on the green tint the lotion provided to allow me to see where it is applied. First I exfoliated, then moisturized. So far, like the overall ease and color. Slight tan, but not too much. Hands are brown. Will get plastic gloves for next application. Will try again to...mmorow for increased effect, but overall, like it. May 25, 2009, 9:28 pm

    glow baby!

Aside from spray self-tanners, this is my favorite self-tanner in a lotion form! I've used this for several years and think I've finally perfected the application. I use a small clean compact sponge to apply it to my elbows and the tops of my hands and feet very lightly and I have practically no issues with this baby! I ...love the color-guide in the formula, and once it develops on my pale skin it is totally believable. I get a bottle of this every summer and I'm never unhappy! I'm sad to hear not everyone likes it! May 25, 2009, 8:45 am

    Too much trouble!!!!!!

    by angyrogers (9 reviews)
I bought this tanner hoping to get the great look that Lisa and Leslie have on QVC. I expected to rub it on and glow with a great looking tan.. but boy have I been disappointed!! I exfoliate daily in the shower and then apply this only to wind up looking blotchy and orange in places. Needless to say no one would ever mistak...e this for a natural tan. Its also has an unpleasant odor that seems to intensify after a few hours. If you do try this product please don't get it near your feet because that is the place where the color seems to look worse. Guess I could just leave it off there but wouldn't that look great at the pool!!!!!!!! May 22, 2009, 8:14 pm

    Oompa Loompa Orange

    by ocgurl (1 review)
I don't know if they have changed the formula, but I bought the "Big Daddy" size of this two years ago, and it was horrible. I did everything I was supposed to do, and was very excited because my skin looked nice and brown indoors. When I stepped outside later, on the way to a friend's party, I looked down and I w...as completely orange. Needless to say I skipped the party and was now stuck with a large container of this horrid stuff. I did finally find a great self tanner. It's Famous Dave's Moisture Tan, and it's so easy to use, and it gives you a natural looking "tan". You can even use it on your face, which you cannot do with the Faux Tan. April 21, 2009, 4:29 pm

as pretty much all self-tanners go, this is still a pain to apply. gloves, mousturizer, patience...and it still gets too dark on the elbows and the back of your heel...A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY!! at least the smell isn't bad. April 24, 2008, 8:54 am

    Love it!!

    by chelbelle (2 reviews)
I felt it was easy to use and easy to remove from my hands after applying. I used it on my arms, legs and chest. It did not take long to dry and the look was very natural. To remove it from my hands I just used soft liquid cleanser and finished off with soap. To apply to the back of my hands I just put some on the top and ru...bbed it in. December 7, 2007, 8:10 pm

    Geat, Subtle Self-Tanner

    by katiehammerman (45 reviews)
    Top 500 Reviewer
I really like this self-tanner! I am obsessed with self-tanner, too; sometimes I feel like I've tried every self-tanner there is! This looks kind of scary going on; it's very dark. You do have to blend it quickly; I recommend working in small sections at a time: face, neck/chest, upper arms, etc. It doesn't have an unbearab...le smell like most self-tanners; I think it kind of smells like coconut. You definitely need to wash your hands thoroughly after applying, or wear gloves. The developed color comes out very light and subtle, and it's very even. If you are looking for a super-dark tan, this may not be for you, but if you want to look healthy and glowing, Bare Escentuals Faux Tan is perfect! Also, you can increase the depth of color by applying it several days in a row. The one thing I would change about this product would be the way it fades; the fade can be a little uneven.
