L'Oréal Paris Voluminous Waterproof Mascara Reviews

Completely Different From the Originall
The L'Oreal Waterproof Voluminous Mascara is nowhere near as good as the original. I couldn't get this to layer on evenly but the worst part is you cannot get this off! You will go through tons of eye makeup remover and still not get it all. Not for me! — 1 year, 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 5 of 5 people said helpful

Clumps
I wish I could say that I liked this, but I don't. The formula is really dry. Even for a waterproof mascara, the formula should not be that dry. It doesn't keep the curl in my lashes, even if I use an eyelash curler. If you want to try a L'Oreal mascara, try the lash tubes Double extend. It will make you want to stay with L'Oreal even if this one doesn't! — 1 year agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 4 people said helpful

Just Awful!
I recently was on the prowl for a good waterproof mascara and I always look at the reviews here at Total Beauty before I purchase. This was one rare instance when the product truly did NOT work for me. I applied my standard two coats and within just a couple of hours, I was getting flaking in my eye and it was more than uncomfortable - it was painful. It felt like I had sharp pieces of medal. I was driving at the time, and had to pull over to check my eyes and try to rinse them. Then, later in the day, maybe 6 hours later, I had very "nice" racoon eyes, which frankly, I have heard many women complain about this issue with all sorts of mascaras but I personally have never had this problem. Then, in the evening when I went to remove the product, I at first used a makeup remover wipe; I kept wiping and wiping and still there was residue. I then switched to a waterproof liquid remover and wiped and wiped and couldn't get my lashes completely clean. When I woke up the next morning, I had a black line under my eyes from the mascara. This truly was an awful product for me and in particular due to the painful flakes, which I do not wear contacts or have sensitive eyes. The ONLY thing I liked about it was the color, Carbon Black, which was the Blackest mascara I had used. The color was very nice and I am disappointed. — 2 years, 7 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 6 of 8 people said helpful

Eh, Average Ratings For You Here, Voluminous
This mascara gives subtle volume but building it up can cause a problem. One thing I truly hate about mascaras is any stiffness and this did just that, stiffen after it ma dried. It may be waterproof but I didn't enjoy how tough it was to remove this even with soap and water or makeup cleansing solutions which actually leading to flaking. Clumps? Yes, I did experience some while trying to dramatize my lashes but I love how boldly black the formula goes on and does look "wet" all day. — 5 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 3 people said helpful

Not as great as I expected
I bought this instead of my usual Full & Soft because I'd read great things about it. Unfortuneately, I'm not that impressed. I wish the bristles on the brush were longer, to better comb through my eyelashes. The part of the tube that cleans the brush when you pull it out should be smaller, too, because I found myself needing to wipe the excess off on a kleenex (I hate doing that because it makes me feel like I'm throwing away half the mascara that I paid for). The formula itself is good: Long-lasting, not at all flaky. It's not bad at all - just not that great overall. — 4 years, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 4 people said helpful

not what I expected
This may be waterproof, but it is not end-of-the-day proof, or rub-the-eye proof. By the end of the day, I had smudges under my eyes as if I had been crying. Not for people who have busy days or live in humid areas. — 1 year, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 2 people said helpful

Not what I expected..
I used to only use the original formula (now I'm sticking to waterproof mascaras because they don't smudge), so when I tried this I thought I would love it. The brush is the same so it's amazing, and really helps to build the lashes up with mascara so they look full and thick. The downside: washing it off. I've never used another waterproof mascara that was harder to take off. Even after going thru 2 cotton balls per eye (and good remover), I still end up with raccoon eyes because I just can't get all the product off! That's the only reason I won't repurchase. — 2 years, 7 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 5 of 6 people said helpful

I like that this mascara maintains the curl, but I would like for it to last longer without having to reapply after a few hours. But my biggest problem is with how it completely smudges giving me raccoon eyes and doesn't come off that easily. It doesn't withstand tears that will either. — 4 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Not bad, not great.
I bought this because I was in need of a new mascara and the reviews on this one were great. However, this doesn't stand up to the reviews I read. When I got to CVS, I grabbed the waterproof version because I didn't think it would make a difference. I was wrong. This works as well as any other mascara, nothing special, although it is a little difficult to remove. I could probably find something that works as well, if not better, for a cheaper price. — 5 months, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Didn't work for me
I used the original formula way back in the day, so when I was looking for waterproof mascara for the summer I decided to give this a try. I was really disappointed with this formula! The first time I wore it, it smudged so badly underneath my eyes, even though I was wearing under eye concealer. Not only was it not water proof for me, it didn’t even last through a regular day! I tried it several more times, trying different tactics like wiping the brush to remove excess mascara, or applying it very sparingly to my bottom lashes, all with the same results. I don’t know if this is a result unique to me, because I have pretty greasy eyelids, but I was pretty alarmed, especially because I remember liking the original formula so much. It did seem to make my lashes look pretty good before it became all smudgey, but that didn’t last very long. — 6 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 4 people said helpful
