My old drugstore moisturizer

by kate39cs (3 reviews)
My skin has been so dry lately. I've been faithfully using all my department store favorites, but still, the dry remains. I'm peeling, chappy, worried about using too much and breaking out. I decided to pull out my jar of cetaphil. I would say it took about three days, and I was back to good skin. Greatly moisurized and not breaking out. Why did I ever quit using this stuff?11/12/2007

    Moisture blanket for my skin

I didn't want to spend another $25 on a teeny moisturizer and read that Cetaphil's Moisturizing Cream works just as well and you get 4x as much! I bought the tub at Wal Mart and paid $21CAN for it. I use it at night only because it is quite rich and would be too oily for daytime use. I have dry, sensitive skin that reacts instantly to irritating products. Cetaphil, however, seems to work well with my skin and its appearance and texture has changed dramatically since. Word of advice: A little goes a long way! The cream seems to be quite hard packed into the jar, but a fine sweep of your fingers over the cream will cover your face. I have had mine for a month and have barely made a dent; This could last a year! I have also used it on some dry patches on my body and the cream is wonderful. It absorbs quickly on my face and body, and doesn't leave me feeling oily or greasy. It soothes the driest skin and is even good on rashes to relieve itching! Like I mentioned in my review for the Sensitive Skin cleanser, Cetaphil is going to be the only brand I turn to for skin care from now on. It's definetly a life-saver. April 17, 2008, 10:48 pm

I have tried just about every skin product on the market ie…lotions, oils and creams with various miracle ingredients such as Dead Sea salts, marine, plant and fruit extracts, nothing has compared to the long lasting moisturizing effects of Cetaphil. The lotion works well, but the best is the cream. It is more expensive, but it also lasts a long time as you don't need much to cover. Once you put it on, you can actually feel the cool, deweyness to your skin. To separate dermatologists have recommended this product to me. February 10, 2008, 8:27 pm

In the morning, my skin is sooo much better, even soft. It is a great cream for dry skin.I also want to add that I have trouble with anything with parabens in it, and Cetaphil has no parabens, so it is one of the few moisturizers that I can use. I would give it 1000 stars if I could, it is a lifesaver for me , especially in the wintertime. January 1, 2008, 8:58 am

December 28, 2007, 11:21 am I picked this up over the weekend on a whim and boy was I pleasantly surprised. This is the richest moisturizer I've ever experienced. I was using MD Forte Replenishing Hydrating Cream ($50) but forgot to pack it so I picked this up. Much to my surprise, this inexpensive drugstore staple is incredibly hydrating and kept my skin (which is sometimes dry/flaky from Retin-A) moist and supple ALL DAY long without any touch-ups. I was really surprised as I touched my face over the course of the day...my skin stayed wonderfully plump and hydrated. Now if only this came with SPF 30 December 28, 2007, 11:21 am

December 7, 2007, 2:47 am I am a three year Breast Cancer Survivor and have been taking chemotherpay once per week for three years. The drug that I take does extreme damage to your skin. The drug dries out your skin to the point of actually peeling off and looking like "fish scales". It was very embarrasing. After spending probably hundreds of dollars on different moisturizers, I found Cetaphil. This is the best and perfect moisturizing cream for dry skin. It has been so perfect, that I have introduced and recommend this product to all the chemo patients I know that take the same drug regimen as I do. We all STAND TOGETHER that this is the PERFECT ANSWER to dry skin. It is totalling amazing. I would never try a different brand again....as I have already tried them and they didn't work. Cetaphil does. December 7, 2007, 2:47 am

December 5, 2007, 9:57 pm I use this product because my derm told me to. I have skin that can be dry and itchy, and extremely sensitive compounded by minor psoriasis. I have experienced no ill effects with this moisturizer, and it has a nice light feel and absorbs quickly. I have not experienced chronically dry skin since using this product. It does not stop my pores from being clogged by environmental conditions, however. It is not glamorous. It does not have any fragrance, but that's the point. I use this on my body every day and have found that other comparable products such as CeraVe don't moisturize as well. When I use it on my face, I prefer the tube as a quick, messless and more hygenic way of dispensing the product. For those interested, my derm was specific in telling me to use the cream, not the lotion. December 5, 2007, 9:57 pm

Since my makeup probably takes the oil from my skin during the day, I like to replenish my skin with this. It works very well and doesn't clog my acne-prone skin. I absolutely love it. And it's wallet-friendly! Also, there's no false promises of looking 10 years younger or waking up acne-free. It's just a basic face cream that moisturizes the skin (which it does very well).
