Use a good shadow brush with this one

I've used these for years, but since trying Neutrogena's Mineral Sheers and L'Oreal's shadow paints, I've switched. Compared to my new shadows, this is an average eye shadow combo with the below average application wand. Don't use it! Use a good shadow brush and clean it regularly. Even still, the base tones on this tend to fade during the day and the dark tones tend to be either be too dark o...read morer not dark enough. The light tones rarely show up against the base tones. I'm giving this a 6 for over all performance. — 5 years, 9 months ago

There's better eye shadows out there....

Maybelline make lovely colours, but the quality isn't there. They crumble, aren't intense enough to last all day, and after a while, sort of "compress" and are difficult to get any product on the applicator. Also, the hinges on the lid break really easily. — 6 years ago

    Love love love!

I have the Twilight Rays and they are beautiful! These work just like my Lancome eyeshadows. I usually use the shimmery light color shadows to highlight my strong Urban Decay eyeshadows. I'm even wearing it in my default photo. Everyone should have one handy in their makeup kit. — 6 years, 1 month ago

Cakes too quickly, colors don't quite compliment each other

I bought this product not too long ago looking to save some money on eye color while deciding which mineral based make up to purchase. I can only say that I'm happy that the decision didn't take long because this "Expert Wear" didn't take long at all before the colors, which don't really compliment each other very well but gave a fair range of choices, started developing that sheen to t...read morehe surfaces that are common to eye products of lower quality. The one plus that it seems to have, besides color range, is that for me at least it held up fairly well in my cosmetic tote that I take with me for touch ups when going to be out for awhile. — 6 years, 8 months ago

    i like multi colors

i think this eyeshadow is great, i use a few of them together to create great color combos, its cool to experiment with. i usually use them for daytime or casual nights. It not great for night clubs it tends to wear off and the pigment doesnt stay put. — 6 years, 8 months ago

    So so, not great.

I do like to have several shadow color choices available. However, I do not like that the colors do not always compliment each other. I usually find myself buying several of the 8-color trays, and then only use three of the colors in each one. I then have to throw them away with 4 or 5 unused colors remaining. There are not enough application brushes, and they fall apart rather quickly. Not on the top of my list when buying new shadow, only as a last resort. — 6 years, 10 months ago

My Favorite Eyeshadow - and Affordable, Too!

I've been using this eyeshadow off and on for a number of years - I might stray away to try something new, but I always come back to this. It's so convenient to have a number of long-lasting shadows in one slim package that fits anywhere. The only downside is that the applicator doesn't last as long as all of the shadows - I always have to buy new applicators. — 6 years, 11 months ago
