Maybelline New York ExpertWear Eye Shadow 8 Pan Reviews

Good, Basic Shadows
These don't seem to have as much pigment as their "Sultry Smokes" quads or Color Tattoo, but I have this eight-pan tray in fall shadows which do apply very well, blend beautifully, and last a very long time, especially over a good primer. The finishes in the palette range from matte to shimmer, and there are some shades which are absolutely and truly gorgeous--like a gently gleaming copper and a luxe emerald green. This is a good value. — 3 days, 23 hours agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Eyeshadow palette
Like this palette. Colors are good and last if you use a primer. Shadows go on smoothly and blend well. — 1 year, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Great for travel
I took this with me when travelling around Europe for three months as I only could travel with one bag. I found that I tended to use only one or two colors in the palette, but that it was nice to have options. The wear on these shadows doesn't seem to be as long lasting as their quads. I also found that some of the lighter colors were chalky and less pigmented. Still, this is a nice piece to have in my bag, especially if I am going to do my make-up somewhere. — 1 year, 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 3 people said helpful

hit and miss
i got a few of these sets for my sister and i. in each set there were some really pretty, highly pigmented shades that looked great and apllied and blended easily, and last well. there were also several mid range shades, having something wrong with them, like the were too hard, too light or wouldnt blend. and then there was a least one shade in each pallette that was terrible, invisible or nearly impossible to pick up on the brush or your finger. so i think it would be a better vslue to buy the good shades individually, and get larger sizes of them and none of the bad ones. — 3 years, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 3 people said helpful

good for going onstage
i'll admit - i don't really use this product for myself; i use it for my 10 year old daughter, who dances competitively and is on stage quite a bit. she needs bold, bright make-up that will pop across the theater and can hold up under hot lights and after a sweat-inducing performance. she also likes to have a wide selection of color choices, depending on what costume she wears. maybelline's expert wear shadow pans have worked just fine. we picked up this product in twilight rays - she liked the purple, blue & silver shades - and i agree, some colors appear better in the pan than they do on the eyelid; some are too sheer. but others are highly pigmented and easy to blend (once you find the right color combos!), with minimal creasing or fading. i've never had trouble with the applicators - even when trying to make up a fidgety tweenager! she has sensitive skin and has no problem with this formula either. i'm happy with this product (and the drugstore price!) — 1 year, 8 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Cute..
I recently purchased "Eye on the Prize" and the colors are great. I'm huge on "changing" up my make-up, but I don't want to spend a ton of money either. I believe you can get the same results from drugstore products as department stores. These pans provide diversity that allow you to experiment. It's also nice to take a few pans with multiple choices with you when you travel rather than lugging a bunch of single eyeshadows with you. — 2 years, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

one of the worst eye shadows
The colors were pretty when I first put them on but didn't stay pretty. Within an hour the shadow creased and faded. — 4 years, 7 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 2 people said helpful

Great Mini eye shadow.
I was extremely excited when i found this in my local drug store (CVS) and I knew I had to get it. I had read so many reviews online about this particular maybeline product and was excited to test it out for myself. This is know as one of the best drug store pallets to travel with so I took it with me on my trip to Maui. Boy, this was a good product, I was able to use this pallet everyday for my eye shadow and not get tired of it since there were 8 shadows, I could make so many different combinations for day and night wear. I found the color pay off to be good, but I found out that instead of using a brush, these colors can be a bit chalky, using a clean finger to pat on these shadows make less of a mess. This was even more convenient because I didn't have to take an eye shadow brush with me and it saved me a lot of time!!! I could also fit this pallet into my makeup case which was great because I was able to apply it through out my day of sweating and such. I do find the lighter shades to be good high lighters for the face rather than colors on my eyelid so I felt like I didn't have to bring a bronzer or high lighter, which was awesome again. I think this is also a good sample pallet to find out which netural color is your favorite!! Some colors are a bit harder to use, such as the green, well for me I felt like the green was very dark so I applied it close to my lash line so it would look sort of like a liner. I don't care for the little sponge applicators neither, but this is a great, cheap, intro to make up pallet, that is also really convenient for traveling. This pallet is over all good, and I would repurchase a second one after I finish my current pallet! — 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful
