perfect for locking in curls!
i have very straight, long eyelashes that stubbornly refuse to curl. i discovered the miraculous shisheido eyelash curler a while ago and was so glad when my stubborn asian lashes finally succumbed to an eye-opening curl! but whenever i tried to add even more definition to my lashes with mascara, they would droop straight down again =( i tried several brands, even the “curling” mascaras, but nothing worked; mascara was kryptonite to my temporarily curled lashes, and i’ve settled for curled but thin and skimpy lashes. after reading about maybelline’s waterproof lash discovery mascara in an article and reviews on total beauty, i gave it a try – best purchase ever! i was a bit wary of the teeny tiny brush at first, but it magically grabs every lash and adds just the right amount of mascara to brighten my eyes – no clumping, super stiff or spider lashes. not a lot of volume or crazy length, but definitely a noticable difference. it’s waterproof so no smudging and amazingly lasts (even through 90 minutes of hot yoga AFTER a long day at the office!) but it doesn’t take too much effort to remove w/ a little eye-makeup remover. my only complaint is cleaning the brush; usually, i wipe mascara brushes off with a tissue before each application to avoid clumps but this brush seems to attract “tissue lint” - which leads to clumping. i would suggest wiping it off with a cloth instead… — 1 year, 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 8 of 8 people said helpful

Cheap and worth every penny!
My eyes tear up on a regular basis all day and I have sensitive eyes. Therefore, it is imperative I have a bottom lash mascara that, 1) is waterproof; 2) really, really stays on; 3) doesn’t create “raccoon eyes;” and 4) doesn’t irritate my eyes (that is especially important since I often commit the cardinal sin of falling asleep at night before I removing my mascara – or any makeup for that matter!). Maybelline Mini-Brush Waterproof Mascara gives me exactly what I want and need. I only apply Maybelline to my lower lashes because I use a Lancôme lash-building product (“Hypnose Drama”) for the top eyelashes (I don’t want my bottom lashes to have “drama” with globs of mascara on them - like the late Tammy Faye Baker’s lashes…). Before using the Maybelline mascara, I apply Lancôme’s oscillating lash primer. I find it makes ANY mascara hold better and it allows me to get good color on the lashes without applying a lot of mascara. This is the only Maybelline mascara product I have ever used that does exactly what its advertisement says. It stays on, does not run, provides good color, comes off easily, does not irritate my eyes, is extremely cheap (I usually pay about $2.00 for the mascara when I buy it on sale at CVS and use the Sunday paper $1.00 coupons), is easy to use, doesn’t take up a lot of space in the makeup drawer, and lasts a long time. Another plus for this mascara is the “mini” round brush and its short bristles. It’s so awesome to have this type of brush for lower lashes that are very fine and short. However, this mascara is also good to use for the top lashes closest to your nose. These lashes are usually pretty fine and short, too. With bigger brushes, you run the chance of getting mascara on your nose or other parts of your eye when trying to apply mascara to this inside area. (And we all know how that kind of error can really throw off the completion time for your eye makeup application.) If you have never tried this product you don’t know what you are missing! — 12 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 10 of 21 people said helpful

fave that I keep going back to
I have skimpy eyelashes and watery, sensitive eyes--the little brush and formula work better than the dozens of others I've tried for my small eyes. — 7 months, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 4 people said helpful

Best So Far
I have been on the hunt for the best mascara that would hold up against my stubborn Asian lashes and this mascara is the best I have used so far!!! The tiny brush is perfect for grabbing all my tiny lashes without clumping them all together. I've only used the waterproof formula and it's great, theres no smudging and it dries super fast. I would have given it a 10 but I felt like there wasn't a whole lot of product in it. This mascara is amazing and for the price it can't be beat. Whether you have stubborn lashes or not I recommend everyone to try this at least once and you'll fall in love :) UPDATE: I'm giving this 10 stars! I just got back from a wedding in Alabama where I wore this mascara and it was a life saver. It was super humid and raining throughout the entire wedding and this did not move one bit. Because of the bad weather and my sweating I thought I would at least have some of my eye makeup running down my face, that was not the case. I had NO smearing or rub off on my lid and NO raccoon eyes, it stayed on the whole night until I took off my makeup. I've never loved a makeup product as much as I do this one! — 8 months, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 5 of 6 people said helpful

The best "detailing" mascara wand I've tried!
I love thickening formulas, but I never achieve a truly "defined" result with the plumping mascaras. Even though this member of Maybelline mascara family may not fatten lashes, it remarkably enhances lashes because of its separating power that gives each of my lashes a presence. Ultimately, it seems to be the "micro" wand that creates such well-outlined lashes. I was a little skeptical when I twisted opened this product, but the small size of the wand really helps me in getting a "clean" look with its application. Overall, I just love the lack of "clump" and "crustiness" this mascara allows me! — 1 year, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 4 people said helpful

My Favorite Mascara!
Maybelline Lash Discovery is my favorite mascara. I'm Asian and I have very straight lashes and not too many of them. This mascara is the only mascara that doesn't weigh my lashes down. After curling my lashes I apply this mascara and my lashes stay curled all day. I don't like other mascaras because they uncurl my lashes. I also love that it's so inexpensive and can be found in any drugstore, Walmart, and Target. I also prefer the waterproof version over the washable one. The washable Lash Discovery actually uncurls my lashes. I don't know why! Isn't that weird? Anyway, I love this mascara. Whenever there's a sale, I buy a bunch at a time. I can't live without it! — 2 years, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 13 of 13 people said helpful

Lower Lashes
I use this one a lot for my lower lashes. Because of the small brush i rarely make mistakes while applying mascara. I use it sometimes to get the natural look. Though it doesn't volumize, it coats every lash. — 3 years, 5 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 5 of 5 people said helpful

LOVE!
This is my go-to mascara. I always have one lurking in the bottom of my make up bag. While I have two or three mascaras in play at any given time, this is always part of my regimen. The tiny brush separates and coast every lash in one swipe, and is particularly handy for lower lashes and outer corners. I never buy department store mascara, and you really cant beat the price of lash discovery. — 3 years, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 5 of 6 people said helpful

Mini Power
This tiny brush has it's pros and cons. Those with scant lashes might not get much length or volume. I have long, but sparse lashes so I use Lash Discovery with another volumizing mascara. It defines the smaller lashes the bigger brush misses. Lash discovery also works wonders for my bottom lashes. Definitely a must have in your makeup bag. — 4 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful
