Finally, an inexpensive self tanner worthy of gushing over. How do we love thee? Let us count the ways: 1) Remarkably realistic color (and so much of it!) that's more golden brown than that of competitors; 2) A truly moisturizing lotion -- oil-free, packed with aloe and vitamin E and non-sticky; 3) A smell you won't crinkle your nose over. But its "streak-free" claim? Well, the lotion's tint helps, but no self tanner can ever be completely streak-free. (Note to companies: Prove us wrong.)

Best self tanner
by beautygeek (3 reviews)I have used them all and Banana Boat lotion formula is the best. I use both light/med and med/dark and I'm pretty fair skinned. I must admit I don't even exfoliate like you're supposed to and this lotion goes on smooth, blends great, is tinted so you can see where you've put it and lasts for weeks. I even use it on my fa...ce and it doesn't make me break out.

Best that I've found
by SherSue (1 review)I'm a pale redhead whose freckles have long faded away so when I say pale, I mean pale. I defy any sunless tanner Not to turn me orange! This stuff looks better than any I've tried. Streak-free; no horrible smell; moisturizing; and comparatively easy to apply. Comparatively easy in that it doesn't dry so fast that acid won'...t remove it -- in fact, it seemed quite forgiving during application. Yes, I exfoliated and I took my time. Did wash hands frequently and saw a bit of orange on them but the rest looked amazingly good. Very inexpensive but hard to find. I will use this product again. May 26, 2008, 5:56 pm

This is the best one out there!

Banana Boats is the first that gives a great natural color and you don't need to use several coats to get a nice looking tan. And yes, no nasty smell! I've gotten many compliments on my tan. People are shocked to find it's "t...an in the bottle". To bad I don't get any kick backs for referrals since I have referred many people to Banana Boats Summer Color self tanner. Only one draw back, I need to stock up in the summer so I have enough to last through the Spring when it finally makes its way back out on the shelves. April 22, 2008, 2:52 pm

I received a lot compliment on my tan from friends/family.it didn't wash off or come off on my close.I was happy with how long it last and i didn't think the price was out of line either . I got realistic color that lasted for at least four showers, unlike most tanners which mostly wash off in one or two. It was easy to apply and left my skin soft. I did experience a little bit of streaking... but it wasn't noticeable to other people, and it wasn't enough to b...other me. Also, it doesn't have a bronzer in it to make it visible, which I personally like because it doesn't rub off on clothes... but it also makes application a little trickier. It doesn't smell as bad as most, which I l LOVE! However, it gets the job done right... I am a pale girl, so I go through a LOT of self tanner, and this is definitely my new go-to product! Finally I can be a beach babe!

I have ried a few self tanners and felt like I was a glowing orange that looked like it was from another planet. This product gave me Excellent color! I like the scent and the ease and the actual sun kisse tone it gave my skin, and I did at lea...st think that my skin was firmer and more tones on my thighs , an excellent bonus! I didhave to be a little bit careful with dstributing evenly as there were some streaking issues, but otherwise it was all i could ask for in a sunless tanning product . not the best when fading

Directions
- Apply to clean, dry skin. Use sparingly around ankles, knees, elbows and hairline. Wash hands with soap and water immediately after use. Allow to dry completely before dressing. Color will develop in 2-3 hours and will last several days. Reapply to deepen or maintain color. For best results, wait at least 3 hours between each application. To maintain your desired shad of tan, reapply 1-2 times a week.
