    Like it

I bought this with the Purity cleanser and I like them together in the winter months. But now that it is summer time it is a bit heavy. I only use it at night now but I still like it.

    Works like its Title!

I have normally healthy skin, a little oily but normal. Winter hit and my skin got so terribly dry. I tried Neutrogena to no avail. I got a recomendation to try this, it was amazing! Within a week my skin was hydrated and healthy, not oily (despite my combination skin). I still use it (even in humid weather) and it hydrates where needs to be hydrated and doesn't really increase oilyness. If you have dry skin, you must try this!!!!

    No Hope

I do not consider this a moisturizer, at least not for me. It is too light and sinks into my skin, I need a little more. I used for several weeks, and it did make me break out, but I did notice something else. It made my brown spots come to the surface of my skin, and flake off, and that is a very good thing! I continue to use this on my spots, but not as a moisturizer.

    scarlets top pick

Forget Oprah! I have skin prone to break out and still use this, I just hit 40 and the changes in my skin was severe! Philosophy is turning it all around and even though I just started last week...they are also reversing the direction my skin eas headed in! I love their products!

    simple moisturizer

Its a basic moisturizing with an interesting scent that youll smell for a while. It doesnt do anything special for me and at times isnt enough moisutre for my dry combination skin. I wouldnt spend the money on it.

    hopeful?

I thought this stuff was ok, but it isn't the best I've tried. I would use it if I had to.

    Everyone should try it

I enjoy Hope in a Jar- I like the scent of lavender, for some people this may not be an attractive quality of Hope. My favorite aspect of Philosophy's flagship products is that it contains beta glucan, which really provides a remarkable & distinctive rosy rosy glow. My skin does just drink this product in. However, this product is vastly overpriced & a poor value overall. To me, it costs...read more twice as much as it should- so while I did faithfully purchase it for the better part of the year, I've moved on to other products which I feel are a better value. I miss it, but it is just simply overpriced. I would use it multiple times a day & did find the marketing about not wearing make-up & instead improving your skin to be mostly true- but it's just such a tiny amount for such a high price. Great product but a bad value.

    Really NOT fantastic at all

I used this and it was greasy and EXPENSIVE. These products are overrated to the hilt and they are kind of "snooty". It's not worth it at all don't waste your money. I had breakouts and would not use this or any other of their facial products again. Philosophy should stick to what they do best and that's fragrance.

    Not a fan.

I got this as part of the Makeup Optional kit which included the Purity Cleanser, Hope in a Tube eye/lip cream, and When Hope is Not Enough serum for about 100 CAD at Sephora and I really wanted to like this product. Heck, if Oprah loves it then I should, too, right?? NOPE. The purity cleanser dried out my skin (I'm normal/combination); the serum felt like I was just putting on droplets of water; ...read moreand this did little to help the dry skin patches I regularly get during the transition from winter to spring. A lot of reviewers have commented on the smell and I personally thought it was a pleasant smell! It's got lactic acid which is good, but not the best for helping smooth out the appearance of wrinkles. Glycolic acid, also belonging to the AHA family, is a lot better than Lactic since it has a much smaller molecular size and is thus most easily absorbed by our skin. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I read the ingredient list and don't remember lactic acid even being in the top 10 which is NOT good. Overall, good but not good enough.

    Fabulous moisturizer!

Personally, I love this moisturizer. I even had a few co-workers ask what I was doing differently when I started using it. It leaves my skin smooth, soft, and radiant. I suggested my mom try it out and now she's hooked too. I agree with other reviewers that it can be a little irritating on the eyes - my eyes water if I apply it to close to them. And the smell isn't phenomenal, though I wouldn...read more't say it stinks, just that it doesn't have the flowery perfumed odor of most skincare products. Of course, I have really sensitive skin and am allergic to most perfumed products, so I'm used to dye and perfume free products.
