I've tried many different acne treatments before, but none with as much hype behind them as this one (along with the toner and moisturizer). The commercials all say the same thing- proven to get rid of acne...and it did, for a week. Then my skin actually got worse. I started having the under-the-skin boil-like acne that scars. I had never had those before. I kept trying proactiv for about a month ...read moreand a half, but it never got any better. Once I stopped, my face cleared up a little, but I still have the scars.

Works, but not the best

I love this cleanser, it's the only cleanser that I have tried within the past five years that doesn't irritate my skin. However, I wish the cleanser is gritty enough for my skin. The whole line didn't work on my skin, but this little guy does.

Once you start, you can't stop-and not in a good way!

I used this product along with the toner and repair lotion for 6 months leading up to my wedding. I did not have 'bad' acne, just a few spots here and there, and I wanted to ensure that I didn't get any for the 'big day'. I also have problems with white heads on my chin and nose, and had hoped that this would clear it up. The whiteheads did not go away, but I didn't have any acne for my wedding...read more either. When I initially started using this product, my face broke out horribly for the first 2-3 weeks, and then was great. After my wedding, I decided that I could manage with the occasional spot here, and that the product wasn't worth the price. My skin broke out horribly within 2 days of not using this product. I had never had bad acne before, and it looked like I did. It took my skin 6 weeks to adjust back to what it was normally previously to using this product. It does work, but if you try to get off of it, beware!! I wish I would've known that prior to using it, I never would've coughed up the money to start!!

a odd "cleanser"...

this cleanser was the a bit odd because it wasn't like other cleansers i've used. it's odd because i started using it and my skin's reaction to it was okay at first, then 3 days later my face started to get VERY dry (the "repair lotion" didn't seem to be doing anything). this didn't help with the acne so i stopped using it. then after i stopped my skin started to breakout faster and my a...read morecne grew at a faster rate. now i'm kinda scared of this product because it might have effected my skin immunity system because my skin is not getting use to other acne meds as fast as it was before i started using proactiv.

great

my skin was not bad but had trouble spots, no in drugstore product would work. I tried proactiv and within a week it was all gone. my skin was baby soft and glowing. love the whole three step process!

ProActiv 3 Step System Did Not Work For Me

I tried using the general ProActiv system to improve my complexion. I suffer from mild to moderate acne. I usually have a few blemishes around my mouth and I thought the ProActiv system would clear up that area. Unfortunately, I don't think that this system is beneficial for users with sensitive skin. Finally, the repairing lotion made my skin dry and flaky. After 2 months of carefully applying the system as directed, I saw no significant difference in my skin's appearance.

Works but over dry skin

I tried the 3 kit proactiv set for a month at first it works but it over dries my skin my forth head started flaking. I stopped using it cause I could not take the over drying and it also left horrible acne scars that are still healing after 2 months I stopped using it . Also it discolor your skin where now my face have different color tones. I recommend using something else.

Works GREAT!

I was getting married last year and had a problem with my checks & chin breaking out really bad. A coworker told me her son use Proactiv and liked. So I thought I'd give it a try and LOVED IT. Not only did I notice an imporvement in a few weeks, so did everybody else. By my wedding my face was COMPLETELY cleared up. I've been using it for a year now and will never clean my face with anything else. GREAT Product!

hmm...

I've been using the 3-step system for a long time. My skin was extremely clear for a while, but now I'm getting breakouts again. I hear that some people say that it works for a while, but then eventually stops working. I ordered a 3-step system from Murad, now.
