    Yikes! Get It Off, NOW!

    by Starluxe (300 reviews)
    Top 100 ReviewerTrusted Review
Open the bottle and you'll instantly smell the chemicals. Benzoyl peroxide never smells appealing but this bottle particularly reminded me of a strong Alka-Seltzer product or TheraFlu because it reeks of a medicine cabinet. I may be over emphasizing the aggravation of the scent but the results were just as unappealing. Fi...rst of all, I experienced heightened irritation to my skin and constant redness as well as dryness. I found that irritation lead to even more acne as stress resulted and almost a burning feeling whenever I applied this. After I stopped using this, redness was diminished and my skin was relieved. Not only did this product proved itself ineffective in my condition but that it has the same ingredient that fights acne as other items found on the shelves of Wal-Mart, Rite Aid, CVS, Target, and other drug and grocery stores. Is there really a need to pay a higher price for something that is just marketed through media and endorsed by celebrities? Not really. May 18, 2008, 11:51 pm

    Caused more damage than repairs

    by emilyh (5 reviews)
What's interesting about this product is that it comes in a kit of three: face wash, toner, lotion. But when i called proactiv to cancel my subscription because my face was getting dry and rashy, they told me i'm not supposed to use all three together and that the repairing lotion is not supposed to be used as a moisturizer.... ??? not sure what it IS supposed to be used for, so i wouldnt suggest it. Great for adult acne

    by YG35 (2 reviews)
I never had a problem with acne until I turned 30 years old. My dermatologist said it was due to hormones. Nothing she prescribed worked for me. I decided to try proactiv and I'm glad I did. Initially these products dried out my skin, but I learned to use it in moderation and it has worked wonders. If I use the lotion ...daily, it causes my skin to dry out and it becomes itchy, but if I use it only 2 to 3 times per week, I am fine, and it keeps my acne under control. Overall, love this product. Caused breakouts!

    by mybaby2028 (5 reviews)
This lotion caused me to breakout. I don't know if it is too strong or what. But, when I used it per the directions my whole face was covered in tiny pimples/bubbles within days. I contacted customer service and they told me to take a break for 3 days and try again. But, I got the same results. I have now figured out t...hat I can use it as a spot treatment as long as I wash it off. So, normally I will treat my worst blemishes after washing it and then rinse off the lotion before bed. I can only use it sparingly or I can actually feel it burning my skin. It definitely isn't what the infomercial talks it up to be! December 12, 2007, 12:50 pm

    Good When Used w/All Products

I had the good fortune to have Dr. Fields as my dermatologist shortly after she developed this product. She was quite honest that it is for acne-NOT for clogged or enlarged pores. That said, this product worked great on the one area I had acne problems so long as it was used with the other products as well. Alone, it isn't ...as effective. Full disclosure-I moved out of the state where she practices many years ago and am no longer in contact with her, so this review is completely independent of any association with Dr. Fields. True-life testimonial to a great product!

    by schumo01 (3 reviews)
I had terrible acne starting when I was about 15. I tried two different prescriptions, and numerous over-the-counter items recommended by my dermatologist. This may sound like an infomercial testimonial, but a classmate of mine recommended ProActiv and it was amazing! I had some of the clearest skin of my classmates, and wa...s just thrilled. I've outgrown my acne for the most part now (I'm in my early 20s), but still use the refining mask once a week or so. Additionally, I had chest and back breakouts, and the Repairing Lotion helped with that as well. I still use it and still have the great results! March 15, 2008, 10:04 am

    Proactiv Repairing lotion

    by lorilee1970 (17 reviews)
    Trusted Review
I have been using Proactiv products for about 2 months now. I am in love with their products. I am using the repairing lotion in conjunction with the face cleanser and face toner and have had some wonderful results. I started using this after my teenaged daughter wanted it for her acne and it workes so great that I ordered ...it for myself. I have adult acne and these products really stood up to the promise that Proactiv claims. The repairing lotion is a wonderul product. It goes on smooth as silk and dries quickly. My old acne is gone and I have no new ones coming up which is a miracle for me. The repairing lotion has made my face clear, younger looking and helping my face to heal from the adult acne. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants a clearer, more smoother face. It gets an A+ from me. February 27, 2008, 2:49 pm

It's not the best but it's better than most

    by eico2001 (4 reviews)
I have suffered with acne for over 15 years and this by far is one of the better products I have tried. I've been using it for 10 months and it keeps my acne under control. I use it once a day because it dries my skin out. I also use it in conjunction with an oral antibiotic prescribed to me by my doctor. I love how sof...t it makes my skin feels but I'm not feeling the price every 6 weeks. I feel its best on mild to moderate acne, but severe acne it tones it down, but it doesn't completely clear it up like it claims. Like I said, it's not the best but it's better than most of the things out there. December 26, 2007, 7:42 pm

    It works for me.

    by nancysc (2 reviews)
Several years ago I started with the ProActiv three step program and within two weeks my annoying acne was cleared. I had small bumps on my forehead, and always had at least one large red pimple on my chin. I used the cleanser and the toner once a day each, and the healing lotion every night. It did make my skin flake f...or about three weeks, and then it smoothed out and the small bumps and large pimples were gone. Now I use the cleanser and the toner every day, and use the healing lotion when I feel a pimple coming on, or a return of excessive oiliness on my chin. Buy these products at a mall kiosk and get only the basic three. Don't buy by mail, as you will get way more healing lotion than you need. I recommend ProActiv's basic program to anyone with acne. Give it at least two months; don't let the flakiness get you down before you've given it a chance to work. The flakiness will go away, along with your pimples. December 25, 2007, 10:11 pm

    Acne Beware!

    by AKPaula (5 reviews)
I've suffered with the hard, large bumpy kind of acne. You know, the kind that can alter your profile...the pimples that you feel before you ever see them. This product really works. I admit that once my skin was clear, I quit using the cleanser and toner. But this repairing solution is great! Just a dab smoothed over the p...roblem area and within a day or so, skin is clear again! Also seems to help the post-pimple red spot go away quickly. The mask is great for emergencies, but those are far and few between if you have the repairing lotion on hand! November 29, 2007, 8:54 pm
