    Great, but not economically reasonable

I clean my brushes after every single use and do a deep cleaning with baby shampoo every 2 weeks or so. I used to use this brush cleanser with a paper towel everyday and got through an entire bottle within a few weeks! After a while, I got a little tired of spending all that money on bottles of cleanser that get used up so ...quickly. If you look at the ingredients list on this cleanser, it is nothing more than regular rubbing alcohol, water, some conditioning agents for your brush and fragrance and artificial colors. You can make your own brush cleanser at home, people!!! Buy an empty spray bottle from a drug store and fill it up half with bottled water and half with 70% concentration rubbing alcohol. Add a tablespoon or so of liquid spray-on conditioner that you would use on your hair and a touch of baby shampoo. Stir is up gently and spray on your brushes in place of this cleanser. I've been using this replacement for months and my brushes have never looked better AND it's easier on your wallet and easier on the environment. February 24, 2008, 4:20 am

    wonderfully clean

    by NicoleRyneeB (16 reviews)
this is FABULOUS! for the longest time i thought i didn't need to, nor did i have time to clean my brushes. are you kidding me? you spend a lot of $$ on your brushes, how could you not take care of them. not to mention the bacteria that can accumulate if you don't clean them. just pour out a bit of this cleaner on a pa...per towel and swirl clean your brushes. start with the brushes you use for lighter shadow then progress to the darker. i clean my brushes after every application now - what can i say, i'm addicted to clean! Great stuff but not so safe....

This brush cleanser works great! I put some in a small cup and dip a couple brushes in it to clean them, then I dump it out and add fresh cleanser and do a couple more brushes and so on. I know its full of chemicals and probably bad for the environment cuz it quickly eats thru the paper cups I use it in and has all kinds of... (probably toxic) chemicals it. I use this every couple of weeks alternating with just soap and water which takes more time to clean. Will continue to use until I find a "green" version that is just as effective. Basically, I put a little on a paper towel, then swirl my brushes around until they are all clean. This is even what the MAC artists uses at the counters, so it must work well! My brushes are left fresh and clean! Once a week or so, I wash my brushes with shampoo for a deep clean. October 15, 2007, 1:33 pm

    Amazing!

I use this on all of my brushes and I love it. A little on a paper towel and a swirl until no residue and brushes are clean and wonderful. I thought I had ruined my Sephora brushes until I used this on them and they were about as good as new. Worth the money plus you can use it towards Back 2 MAC! December 8, 2007, 9:20 pm

It works but I use mine up fast. I can't keep spending $20 (two bottles worth) per month on this stuff. I think I'll try Clinique's instead. January 18, 2009, 3:20 pm

    LOVE this stuff!

This is definitely a MUST HAVE if you want to make your brushes last forever and kill off the bacteria which causes breakouts! Best and easiest brush cleanser I've ever used....I found a spray-pump that fit the bottle which makes it a WHOLE lot easier. After I finish my makeup, I spray each brush 2x and run it back and fo...rth on a clean towel. Its also great for changing colors while doing makeup because it dries so fast. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED...I will never be without this product! February 20, 2009, 11:29 am

    Not Too Sure

I was told by the MAC artists to do a deep cleansing, pour it into a cup and leave my brushes in it for 5 mins and then rinse. I'm not impress at all, my concealer brushes were still covered with concealers and I had to use my shampoo to clean off everything. Would not recommend it. It's also drying on my brushes. I recomme...nd a basic shampoo like Suave. October 20, 2008, 1:23 am
