Gentle perfectly describes this rice-based powder scrub, which comes in a shaker. Just add water to create a paste. It removes dead skin without leaving sensitive types red-faced. And it's loaded with good-for-you ingredients like bearberry and grapefruit, which brighten skin, and colloidal oatmeal and green tea to soothe. I'm in the blotchy-red skin group and this is the only manual scrub I can use daily without irritation. The jury's still out on whether it's helping fade my brown spots.

    This exfoliant is one of the mildest ones I've used. So much so that I use it almost everyday because it doesn't leave my sensitive skin raw, irritated, red and sore. This product is gentle, yet effective. I use it primarily to slough off some rough patches I get around the mouth and chin areas. It leaves my skin smooth... yet non-irritated.     I love love love this product. Did I mention I loved it yet? Performance aside, it's the complete uniqueness of Microfoliant that really stands out for me. The fact that you can customize the texture of it is truly amazing. There aren't many one-size-fits-all exfoliators but this comes as close as you can get. Sensitive? ...Water it down a bit more for a less dense scrub. Oily? Less water and keep it on for a few minutes as a mini masque. December 11, 2007, 10:55 pm

    Mild and effective

    Great product, especially for my combination, sensitive and acne-prone skin. The product is not harsh and doesn't make my skin red unlike other mechanical exfoliants I've used. It gets rid of the dry patches that I sometimes get from using prescription retinoids and makes my skin glow after using. Took one star off for the ...exorbitant price. However, will repurchase.     I got a little sample packet and I'm hooked! The granules in this are ultra fine. Gentle enough to not tear up your face for the sake of exfoliation, but tough enough that it feels effective and really leaves your skin more radiant and smooth. I LOVE IT! May 6, 2008, 8:00 am

    Better than any!

    Love it and would recommend it. I hate the price but it does last me a long long time I would say a year. It doesn't feel like it is scratching up my face like most of the Exfoliating Scrubs do. I have sensitive fair skin and acne prone. Nice product and would recommend even if it is pretty expensive. I have used a lot of d...ifferent brands too.     I found the plant extracts to be irritating

    I love that this product is the most gentle (in terms of abrasiveness) physical exfoliant I've ever used on my sensitive skin. It leaves my skin smooth without being overly harsh--except for all the plant extracts, some of which irritate both my nasal allergies and my skin. If I could find a similar product without the plan...t extracts, I would consider purchasing, but I won't buy this product again.     Concentrated, mild, but effective

    The fine powdery consistency of Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant means the ingredients stay potent and active until moistened. That said, keeping moisture out of the container in the shower is a must. The cleansing grains of the microfoliant, if used daily as directed, keep my skin smooth, clarified, with a great reduction ...in bumps and blackheads. I find the most cost-effective is to buy the professional 6oz size of the container, and to fill a smaller jar with small amounts for the shower. November 29, 2007, 1:19 pm

    Best Exfoliant!

    As an esthetician with sensitive skin myself, this is the best exfoliant I have found. However, I do not use it daily since Dermalogica came out with the new AGESmart line. I alternate one day with the daily microfoliant, and the other with the AGESmart Skin Resurfacing cleanser. It contains Lactic Acid which is another ...great exfoliator. It's effectiveness is intensified with steam, so I put it on in the shower in the morning and rinse off last. It has a slight tingling to it, but I have seen the best results on my own skin using this combination. March 6, 2008, 12:52 pm

    "Daily" means just that..you can actually use it DAILY

    I love the feeling of being freshly exfoliated! So I was happy to find this product and be able to use it everyday for a squeeky clean feeling.   • An exfoliant gentle enough for every day use. Daily Microfoliant is a truly unique rice-based enzyme powder that micro-exfoliates dulling debris and instantly leaves the skin noticeably smoother and brighter. The powder formula activates upon contact with water, releasing papain, salicylic acid and rice actives to smooth the skin and accelerate cell renewal. Daily Microfoliant is also formulated with a unique skin brightening complex of bearberry, aspergillus, grapefruit and licorice to help balance uneven skin pigmentation. A super soothing blend of green tea, ginkgo and colloidal oatmeal calms inflammation, leaving the skin extraordinarily clear and refreshed.

  • Directions

  • Dispense about a half teaspoon of powder into very wet hands, and create a creamy paste by rubbing hands together. Apply to face in circular motions, using care around the eye area. Massage gently for one minute, then rinse off thoroughly.
