Gentle perfectly describes this rice-based powder scrub, which comes in a shaker. Just add water to create a paste. It removes dead skin without leaving sensitive types red-faced. And it's loaded with good-for-you ingredients like bearberry and grapefruit, which brighten skin, and colloidal oatmeal and green tea to soothe. I'm in the blotchy-red skin group and this is the only manual scrub I can use daily without irritation. The jury's still out on whether it's helping fade my brown spots.

This stuff is great but CRAZY expensive! A friend of mine gave me a bit to try out, and it was nicely exfoliating. Did the job without being scratchy. Good quality and effective. This comes out as a powder you lather in your hands. It feels really smooth on the face, the little rice enzymes are not irritating in the least. After I rinsed, my skin seemed more clear and had a nice glow to it.
