Gentle on the skin but works well

I was really impressed with this face wash. I do not normally get breakouts but I did get a post-facial one a couple of weeks ago and used this to wash my face. I really liked that it did not irritate my sensitive skin at all but got rid of every trace of makeup. It did not leave my skin stripped and dry, either. After I washed up with this, I used Queen Helene on the crampy zit overnight and it worked a treat.

gentle and effective

I have hormonal acne- the kind you get when you are near age 40. This cleanser was effective without being drying.

Sorry, but no...

I first tried this cleanser as a sample from Sephora and praised it, but then it's like my skin got used to it and it wasn't anything special anymore. I have acne-prone/combo skin and I try to give any new cleanser a 3 month trial unless i can't stand it. Well, don't let the menthol fool you into thinking its deep cleaning. Plus, theres oil in it. I aim for using oil-free products, hence less sebu...read morem! Too many ingredients and much too $$ for what it doesn't claim to do! Wanted to like it though...darn. The search continues...

I love it. Absolutely love it.

This product is worth its price. It makes me happy, keeps my skin squeaky clean and clear, and I don't have to worry about big angry blemishes anymore! I'd pay (almost) any price for that. There's a lot of cleanser in the bottle and you only need a very small amount to clean your face, so it actually lasts quite a bit. The smell is pleasant- not overpowering in the slightest- and very minty fresh/...read morecitrus-y. That's to be expected, though, since it contains many citrus fruit extracts (: Now for the best part, though: the skin-clearing action. I'm extremely prone to blemishes because I'm young, stressed out, touch my face often, and I have combination/oily skin. I also tend to pick at my face a lot, leaving behind dark and long-lasting hyper-pigmentation :/ Within two days of using this, all of my breakout spots were incredibly smaller, if not gone, and much less noticeable. And much to my delight, the upsetting dark patches on my face are starting to get dramatically lighter, which I'm attributing to a combination of this cleanser and my toner. It's almost magical, really! I haven't been wearing any foundation and I have worn foundation every single day of my life for the last two years, up until now of course. I don't need to! (: A few small spots are emerging, but I expected that because my skin needs to purge itself now, and they are hardly visible at all (nobody would know but me). Well, as you can see, I'm inexplicably happy with this product (:

Not for me

I started using this product because I have oily skin and heard it really helped with acne. I've been using it for over a month and it hasn't helped me at all. I continued to break out and what's worse, it dried out my skin badly. This is definitely not for me.

Good, but not that good...

I tried Murad for only a couple days and although my skin cleared up, i was introduced to a new problem- drry skin (though i did not buy any of their moisturizers). Either way, i would not recommend it unless you have severely oily skin. After i went off of this stuff i was back to my normal acne wash, using excess amounts of my moisturizer for about 2-3 weeks! Full recovery took about a month though.

still on the fence about this product

I purchased the 3 step system and I did feel a great difference after the first day of using and after 3 days i couldnt stop touching my face. pimples were beginning to clear and skin felt softer and looked brighter. after a week I was still feeling great, went the 3 week challenge but by the end of the 3 weeks my skin began to feel very dry, sandpapery. I went off for a while and i broke out badl...read morey....went back on and cleared up. I dont like that when i go off of it breakout become worse. It clears up the problem but i feel like just using the cleanser and treatment gel and using a different moisturizer. The value for the $ is great. After 2 months I still have some of the 3 week trial kit left.

Not happy

this product is crap! I bought a sample version of it and the spot treatment. the spot treatment is amazing and I still use it. This product dried out my skin like none other and broke my face out bad. The day that I switched to a different product (clean and clear) my skin cleared up. i would recommend the spot treatment, but the facewash should die

Not Sure

I tried this several years ago in a kit, it worked great the first time I used it. So I tried the kit again and it didn't work on me this time around. Don't know what went wrong... The first time it worked I had moderate/severe acne the second time around it was moderate and it didn't work... :(
