Clinique Blended Face Powder and Brush

This large jar of finely ground powders "sets and perfects makeup" of varying quality and comes in seven basic shades that does a fine job of camouflaging pores and concealer. The sifter keeps powder-y mess to a minimum, unless the container bounces around a lot during travel. Then, it seeps everywhere. But why do they recommend applying with fingertips when it's packaged with such a handy brush?

Product Review: Clinique Blended Face Powder

March 12, 2008, 6:30 am There are a few other choices of translucent or invisible face powders on the market, but Clinique's Blended Face Powder and Brush in Invisible Blend works for both girls and mature women. My daughter, who admittedly has beautiful 20-something skin, brushed the powder on her bare skin and it gave her a flawless finish. I lightly dusted it over my foundation as a setting powder and it didn't settle in what I prefer to call my laugh lines but there may have been a trace amount in my crinkles. I have not worn powder for eons because it tends to emphasize the lines on my face rather than make them invisible, but I would wear Clinique's Invisible Blend on special occasions when I need that extra setting power. It is the first time since the company's launch in 1968 that the loose powder is available in an invisible blend. The 100 percent fragrance-free (phthaltes-free for my health-conscious girls), non-acnegenic formula makes it a perfect choice for all skin types, tones, and women who are concerned with what ingredients they put on their faces. Available at Sephora ($18.50). March 12, 2008, 6:30 am

Might Be More of a Dry Skin Blot Than Oily, Huh?

May 16, 2008, 2:56 pm This sets makeup well but I have to say that in the market, it may not be the best depending on your skin type. I have combination oily skin and even just after a couple of hours during the winter, I find myself shiny especially in the t-zone which means this didn't do the job right the first time so I'll blot and I apply again. Building this up can look cakey and unnatural, leaving skin feeling heavy as well. I've found though for $18.50, it's a great deal considering it comes with a brush of its own but don't get me wrong because this brush can only do as far as the t-zone because it would take forever and an uneven application if you decide you'll be using this regularly as a setting brush for this powder. Yes, this does come in a translucent finish but I do find that it can add a pink tinge to any yellow based undertone but this may be good for some people who need to neutralize that. Overall, this powder is very velvety to the touch but it doesn't give skin a nice glow or finish as it can overdo the matte effect and won't last long until oily or normal skin can look like an oil slick. I actually prefer the compact version when it comes to this because it saves space, it is less messy, and because the matte finish doesn't last too long it is more convenient for touch ups. This is a great deal for it's price. The jar is giant, and you get a retractable brush as well. It looks natural (I used the translucent shade) and you can't tell you're wearing powder. My only beef is I wish the brush was a tad more fluffier, but despite it being smaller--it still applies evenly. July 24, 2008, 7:05 pm

    GREAT Powder

    by gibsonjrd (5 reviews)
I have never liked too many products by Clinique, but this one tops them all. I like the quality, how if feels on my face (light and clean), and it does live up to it's product claims. This powder wears clean and all day. The price is good, but really like it when it is on sale. GOOD JOB Clinique! May 31, 2008, 6:07 am

    Blended Bliss

    by CeliaB (12 reviews)
I bought the new invisible blended powder. I like that I don't have to change my shade during the summer. It really sets my makeup nicely and gives me a flawless finish. I use a powder brush to apply it and use the small brush it comes with for my blush! May 25, 2008, 7:45 pm

    flawless finish

    by Lenalove (155 reviews)
this powder just does a great job, it's light feeling I love the brush application(less is more) when it comes to powder. My skin tends to be a little oily and this does a great job, it looks natural and it feels light and airy on my skin. May 15, 2008, 9:56 pm

    Clinique Powder cover up

    by Star608 (66 reviews)
I love this powder cover up, Clinique is an excellent product in itself,. But this is great cover up, it's light and feels as tho you're wearing nothing. It also adds an excellent even tone to your face that looks more natural like your not wearing make up and have super skin. You gotta try it. May 13, 2008, 9:48 am

I tried this powder and while it is finely milled and natural looking upon application, it didn't work for my skin. My skin is oily and the powder did not stay colour-true. I like puff application better than the brush which tended to be messier, even with minimal powder on it. May 7, 2008, 10:52 am

    It's Alright

    by QueenAlvarez (40 reviews)
What's great about it is it looks good if you use a tiny tiny bit, which means it lasts forever. But the shade I bought is a bit dark(10 Transparency Bronze) and it turns out a bit too shimmery. Yet it looks great on the eyes! I use it as the BEST bronze eyeshadow. May 2, 2008, 1:48 pm
