I have to be careful dying my hair because my hair is extremely dry and brittle. that said, if used properly this product does a great job of providing great color without over dying. I have learned to dye roots first and the rest later without compromising even color and that helps prevent overdrying.
I have very dark - almost black hair and the greys do start to show through in a couple of weeks but overall the color remains the same without turning that brassy orange color that a lot of dark brunette dyes tend to do. out of the home dyes I have tried this is closest to my natural color April 26, 2008, 2:42 pm

I have used this product for over 7 yrs now... I have occasionally tried others but have always come back!!
The color selection is excellent....I have alot of grey and it provides excellent coverage.... I use it about every 4 wks and my hair remains in excellent condition..... I continue conditioning treatments in-between because grey need a little extra lovin'.... The formulation is my favorite part... it is no mess cream formulation that you can apply easily without dripping and running....set the timer.... and get other things done in the meantime... sure beats sitting 3 hrs in the salon March 12, 2008, 5:37 pm

The first time I used this product my hair wasn't in the best shape. At the end of a hot, dry summer it was dry & brittle. Afterwards not only had it covered my gray hair but left it soft, shiney, managable & so healthy & natural looking. It cost a little more than some other well-known name brands, but I had such good results over all, I won't try any thing else. I didn't need to use it again for over 8 wks. Being a blonde and just wanting to cover the gray, may have some to do with the length of time between colorings, maybe. December 9, 2007, 11:58 pm

Working in the cosmetics industry for many years has given me the opportunity to experience a large array of products. My natural haircolor is a medium neutral blonde and I use color 8G and am amazed at the salon quality color. I covers gray, stays true to color and does not strip my hair. I have used this for the last 3 years and I love it. It covers my gray very well, puts in great highlights and lasts a long time. Not to mention it has the best conditioner I've ever used. I have baby fine hair and it makes my hair so soft and beautiful and never weighs it down so it feels greasy. I wish they sold the conditioner by it's self. I have used this product for a long time now and I love it! I LOVE the attachable comb that comes with each and every box! What a great help! All the color is evenly distributed and it NEVER runs or drips! It's such a great product that I don't even see any other products when I walk down the isle at the store...Right to it - there is no other choice for me! May 26, 2008, 5:59 pm

Occasionally I will try another brand to make sure I am not missing something, but I always come back to Excellence Creme. My difficult hair absolutely loves this formula. Even if I did not need the color, I would still use it because of the feel and performance of my hair after using it.
My newest color favorite is Mocha Ash Brown. Looks absolutely natural, but better. May 2, 2008, 7:28 pm

I used this last week and it did not cover my gray. I didn't have alot of gray showing thru, but enough to need covering. So I thought I would try this brand instead of my reg. I am really upset. I have to redo it all over again. You can see all of the grey at the top of my head and I followed the directions to the T. Oh well some people have luck and others don't. December 9, 2007, 9:47 am

I have used this haircolor as my main brand in the past 3 years. I had tried so many different brands, to try and find one to get the color I want, cover a few grays, and long lasting. I haven't found a single one to work as well as Loreal. The color always turns out to match the color on the box, it covers the grays, and it is very long lasting. After I color, and wash it out, my hair is so soft and silky. This is by far, the best brand of haircolor. November 29, 2007, 4:13 pm

I use the L'Oreal Paris Excellence Hair Color Creme every 6 weeks for my gray coverage and to spice up my hair color.....It has every other product beat by far......It is easy to use and having it in a creme form is easy for the do it yourself woman. This product saves me so much money every 6 weeks keeping me out of the hair salon for a freshen up hair color........
