Rimmel London Stay Matte Pressed Powder Reviews

amazing!!
LOVE this powder. It applies really easily with a kabuki brush and it really does keep my skin matte. I love the way it smooths on over my concealer and tinted moisturizer and leaves no cakey spots at all. — 1 year, 5 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 4 people said helpful

Just as Good as Clinique Sty Mtte!
Very suprised by this powder! For the past year I've been using my Clinique Stay Matte Pressed Powder and that works fine it's just that it makes my face look really dull and chalky and I prefer a more smooth textured powder and Clinique's isn't silky feeling when applied. Plus I find that it only lasted me about 2 months before I had nothing but pebbles left. This is absolutely amazing!!! Feels so nice, light and silky and I'm able to get it for about $3.99! Such an amazing steal considering Clinique's powder is $24 where I live. — 1 year, 7 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 4 people said helpful

love the pro look
i like that you can get a serious looking pancake at a drugstore [btw, sniff y ou later revv]. i hate those little all in one mirrored compact things that come with the nasty cheap poof. theyre a disaster waiting to happen. this powder is a good value and very basic as you can buy three of them and still be ahead on the dept store setting powder and no one will be able to tell the difference. very matte finish, reasonably lasting shine control[5 hours on my forehead, lol, thats a TEST] and the translucent shade doesnt interfere with any other makeup color. — 4 years, 11 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 5 of 7 people said helpful

My favorite setting powder
In my opinion, this is more of a translucent color. I have this in both 004 and 005, but I don't think there is a difference between the two. This comes in pressed powder form, and for the money, this is my favorite setting powder. It does not leave my skin chalky or too 'made-up' looking. I have had mine for well over 6 months and only half of the powder is gone! Lasts a long time!! This is personally my favorite, and if you are in the mood for a pressed translucent, give Stay Matte a try. — 4 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 4 people said helpful

Good for the price
This powder truly does stay matte. Not ALL day, of course, but I've never found any powder that I didn't have to reapply. This keeps shine at bay longer than most, and it doesn't get too cakey upon reapplication. It would be nice if this came in a mirrored compact, though (hence my 7-star rating). The packaging is impractical for a "purse powder", and more suited to something you'd keep at home. — 4 years, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

Nice powder
This stuff is really great. No matter how many different powders I try, I always end up coming back to this one. It controls shine for hours and I don't have to reapply it very often. — 2 years, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 2 people said helpful

Good product, but not for me.
As someone who has incredibly oily skin, products that claim to “stay matte” always get me excited. This powder came with great reviews so I decided to give it a shot with high hopes. For the price, I think that it is a pretty good product, but it doesn’t blow me away. Rimmel is a pretty great brand and I love their prices, that is certainly a plus. I found the perfect shade for my skin as well, and I appreciate that the powder has a bit of a tint to it without being over-powering. I have found that some setting powders that are not translucent can get cakey, but that was not the case with this one. There is a range of colors available, so it can be used with most skin tones. There is also a ton of powder in each container, so expect this stuff to last a while. The product is easily blendable-I typically use either a kabuki brush or a pouf, depending on my mood. Once, in a pinch, I had to use a sponge, and the product still went on relatively well. So overall this product applies great. However, I was moderately disappointed in the performance. Although this keeps my skin matte an extra hour or two, it certainly doesn’t do the job all day. After five or six hours, I start to get shiny. And once your skin gets oily, don’t even bother trying to cake this over it to absorb the shine-THAT is when the product starts looking cakey. So although there is much that impresses me about this product, it didn’t work for me personally. I would still recommend it to most people with normal/combination skin, however, because my skin is very hard to work with. I will not repurchase this product again, unless I hear talk of a new formula. — 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Did not live up to all expectations
Being a teenage girl, my skin is like the BP oil spill. Not pretty. So it's quite difficult to contain that oil. First of all, I picked the color that MATCHED PERFECTLY under the harsh fluorescent lights of Target, however it is slightly too pale in actuality. It looks powdery around the edges of my nose, so I don't put it there. It does have good coverage for a powder, I don't even feel the need for foundation, and the rest of my face looks nice and natural. And now for the "staying matte" part. The packaging says "up to five hours!". Key words: 'up to'. Not 'at least'. So no, it doesn't last all that long. But it's still the best powder I've used, my search just isn't yet over. — 1 month, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Ok but probably won't repurchase
The Rimmel Stay Matte powder is raved about by many online beauty bloggers and youtubers alike so of course I jumped on the bandwagon. My experience was sadly not as pleasurable. This isn't a terrible powder but it just didn't hold up like I thought it would. I have very oily skin but also have dry patches thanks to intense acne medications so it's very difficult to find a good powder that will keep oil away but won't emphasize my dryness. This powder did neither. It doesn't control shine that well so I have to reapply after a couple of hours. It doesn't build upon itself well and starts to look very makeup-y each time you reapply. Not attractive. I'll keep it in my purse for touch-ups here and there but when it's all gone I'll keep looking for another powder. — 1 month, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful
