    Blood On Your Face?

    by Starluxe (300 reviews)
    Top 100 ReviewerTrusted Review
Left to right, boy, have I heard about this. While my fellow girls on YouTube demonstrate the usage of this, I found this to be a troublesome additive to makeup. First of all, it dries in a quick, which means if you don't blend swiftly and evenly, streaks of crimson seems to be making patterns all over your cheeks. Next,... the impractical brush, does anyone even use this thing? 100% of the people that I've seen use this bottle have jammed the top with their finger, shook the bottle, and applied it liberally with their fingers. That brush is way to small anyway to define cheeks, it's more like painting lines on them. Next, I found that this over time can break down into a form of formaldehyde, a type of carcinogen if I'm not mistaken through research. While I don't know much about every other makeup product and their properties, this one was tested and I do know it's some type of a hazard to use and somehow I ran into the information online. Another factor, don't ever use this on top of foundation of any sort, this will melt right into it and make it almost impossible to blend and it can stain surfaces. A glass bottle reminiscent of a nail polish bottle doesn't exactly appeal to me either. But don't think for a second, I'm just a bitter woman about this product, if you do manage to blend it, depending your skin type, it can look natural. I won't be biased about that, however, because this product does deliver a crimson finish, it's not exactly a few people's idea of a perfect flush since some people already have a problem of redness in their facial areas and there isn't much of a color selection other than this one color and the new release, posytint which is the sister shade to this in a pink tinge. I'll oppose this product's values though, because I just don't think it's the best hyped product ever. May 13, 2008, 5:46 am

    Color isn't for me

    by cheetah11 (151 reviews)
    Top 100 ReviewerTrusted Review
I really wanted to like this stain as I've heard about the glowing reviews from people but I find the color doesn't suit my skin with yellow undertones very well. It was way too fuchsia- pink. I used it on my lips but no matter how little/how much I apply, the color is just not suitable for me but on my friend who happens... to have pink undertone to her skin, it suits her extremely well. I tried it on the cheeks but found it dries way too fast and if you don't blend it in right away, you will be left w/ streaks of pinkish-red color. The applicator is also somewhat of a hassle. I'm not too fond of brush type applicators like the one that comes with this product because it's a bit too clumsy to use, especially on cheeks. It's so much easier to just put the product on your fingers and apply it that way. I find that on the lips, the tint doesn't last as long and oily foods remove it completely. On the cheeks, staying power is alright. As far as color selection goes, they need to make more colors geared towards skin with warm undertones. I'm aware of the new one they came out with which is the Posie tint but it's just a variation of the same kind of pink, just lighter in color. July 18, 2008, 12:46 am

    Doesn't last as lip tint

    by rfarkle (1 review)
I have been trying to find a product that produces a long-lasting tint to my lips, without looking too "lip-sticky" and one that allows me to use my own lip balm, rather than the ooey-gooey gunk that comes with the long-lasting lipsticks. The Benetint really does not work well as a lip tint. The consistency is i...dentical to water, so it's like trying to paint tinted water onto your lips. I finally discovered that the easiest way to apply it was to clean off one of the sponge-tip applicators from another poor choice of lip tint. It soaked up just enough of the benetint to allow complete coverage of my lips, but in order to get any sort of color, you must apply several coats. Because it's so runny, this can be very tricky. It would be worth the trouble if it lasted a long time, but it doesn't. Once I've eaten anything, the color is mostly gone. The product I'm really trying to duplicate is one I had years ago. It was a cheek stain/blush, I think by Clinique, and all I had was one of the little sample pots, which looked like a lip gloss pot. That stuff worked very well. I am not a big fan of the benetint. In addition to requiring a lot of care in application, if you use your fingers for any of it, you will have blushing finger tips to match your cheeks and lips. I was not successful finding anything that would remove it from my fingers. April 30, 2008, 5:10 pm

    Benetint Is a Staple

    by bigelove (6 reviews)
I love Benefit's Benetint and have been using it as a lipstain and blush for years and years. The color is a sheer rose pink and is great for cool skin tones. As a blush it looks very natural, like a flush. As a lipstain, it works okay, lasting for several hours. I don't think it is enough on it's own, so I usually apply an...other lipgloss or balm over top. It smells like faintly like roses; I love the scent. The bottle lasts a long time. If you blend with your fingers, it will unfortunately stain your fingers, so plan to scrub after applying. April 22, 2008, 6:01 pm

    sad

    by bronuv (12 reviews)
i was SO excited to buy & play with this stuff. unfortunately after multiple uses i just can't get behind it. i'm really fair & trying to use this stuff as a blush ended up clown-like no matter how little i used or how ferociously i blended (which ended up just irritating my cheeks) on my lips it would settle comfor...tably into all my lines and make me look old. i adore most benefit products but this was just a huge let-down. Eh...

I might have to go against all the other good reviews and just be honest. I really wanted to like this product because of all the hype and word of mouth, but I'm just not feelin' it. My biggest issue would have to be that weird nail polish type of brush. Sometimes instead of little dots of red, the brush will sort of splatt...er and leave too much on the cheeks. If you don't blend fast enough, the color doesn't look natural. Also, I'm really not sure if this color can work well on all skin tones. I'm Asian with fairly tan skin and yellow undertones (NC40 in MAC) and the red just somehow does not look right. I didn't want to waste the product and tried a dab of it on my lips, which turned out to be an even worse idea- it looked a bit childish, like a little girl who just ate a popsicle or who just stole her mother's lipstick and smeared it on her lips. So sorry, all you hardcore Benetint fans, this product doesn't really work on EVERYONE. January 27, 2008, 2:26 pm

    rosy glow

    by lonebobseytwin (13 reviews)
This stuff really does the job. just a dab on your cheeks, blend in it, and you have an all day rosy glow. It won't melt off, doesn't add any heavy weight to your skin. Its good if your skin is really sensitive, since its just a rose water tint. its not going to clog your pores or add any irritants to it. it adds a very na...tural glow to your cheeks. Its good for the lips if your like me and you have pale almost colorless lips, so its a real help for me, and gives them a natural pink tint. plus its not going to wear off! Lip & Cheek Tint All In 1

    by makeup_lover (103 reviews)

WHO KNEW THAT THIS LITTLE BOTTLE COULD DO SO MUCH, IT COMES LIKE A BOTTLE OF NAIL POLISH, WITH BRUSH AND ALL. IT CAN BE USED TO ADD A SMALL TINT OF COLOR TO YOUR LIPS. THE GOOD THING IS THAT THE COLOR IS NOT SUPER BRIGHT BUT SUBTLE. WHEN I USE IT TO ADD A LITTLE ROSINESS TO MY CHEEKS, I TAKE THE BRUSH AND "PAINT" ...2 DOTS ON EACH APPLE OF MY CHEEK. THEN I QUICKLY RUB IT IN, IN A CIRCLE. THEN I APPLY CONCEALER AS USUAL OVER THE CHEEK. SO WHETHER YOU USE IT TO ADD A TINT TO YOUR LIPS OR CHEEKS OR BOTH, ITS WELL WORTH IT!! Great, natural flush

    by wvuprincess75 (3 reviews)
I really like this product. I use it in combination with Dandelion and High Beam and the three combines make my face glow and gives it a beautiful flush. I use this by making an "X" on the apple of my cheek and immediately blending. I then swipe dandelion over it and put a dab of high beam on my cheekbone and nos...e. Make sure you close the cap good. I did not once and it emptied onto everything.. very messy. It's a great product if you are looking for some natural color. Great everyday product. November 29, 2007, 10:20 am

    Pretty good

    by cniquette (6 reviews)
It's a nice color, and goes on very quickly which is good if you're in a hurry but bad if you want to be very precise- you have to blend it in seconds. It also tends to get on my fingers and doesn't come off easily. However, it is very nice during the summer, because it doesn't come off quickly- even if you're swimming or e...xercising. It's a bit expensive, but one bottle will last you forever- so on a day-to-day calculation it's not bad May 13, 2008, 7:09 am
