And, action! Madonna helms a new movie on the streets of New York City.

Turns out that Madonna is human after all. The icon, who turned 52 last month, was snapped by paparazzi last Friday as she directed a scene for her new movie, "W.E." in Central Park and, for once, she actually looked her age. While the Material Girl has, no doubt, gone to great lengths to practice the best possible skin care, other 50-somethings may be buoyed to see that, without all the lighting and makeup that accompany typical photo shoots, Madonna does, in fact, look her age.

The pop icon's life has been in a state of flux over the last couple of years as she divorced her British director husband, Guy Ritchie, (and gave him a reported $70 million in a settlement) and moved her family from England to New York where they've made quite the stir. First, by plopping down a cool $40 million for a townhouse on Manhattan's upper east side, then there was the swirl of rumors of a romance between Madonna and New York Yankees treasure, Alex Rodriguez.

Lourdes, her doppelganger daughter, makes headlines of her own. Over the summer she and her famous mother launched the "Material Girl" clothing line at Macy's and, was the talk of all the NY tabs again two weeks ago when she enrolled in Manhattan's famed LaGuardia High School of Music & the Performing Arts - the public school that was made famous by the movie "Fame." " "I saw [Lourdes] in the morning and in the cafeteria," a fellow freshman to the New York Daily News. "She was talking to people. ... She blends in with everyone. She seems like a normal person."

Mom Madge is keeping busy on the set of "W.E." - a biopic about the affair between American Wallis Simpson and British King Edward VIII. (The movie was co-written by Alek Keshishian who directed Madonna's 1991 film, "Truth or Dare," which went on to become the highest grossing documentary of all time.)

And, while lots been made in recent years about her rumored cosmetic procedures and/or dermal fillers and use of Botox, clearly, as is evidenced by this series of photos, Madonna hasn't gone as overboard as people may have thought.

Does it make you happy to see that Madonna's a "real" person like the rest of us? Or, do you prefer your superstars to seem "perfect" at all times?
