  • I caught a glimpse of myself in the rearview mirror while driving the other day, and the sunshine quickly spotlighted the crow's feet that have formed around my eyes. Ugh. I immediately started going down the OMG-I-am-aging wormhole, but before I let myself get too existential, I started to think more superficially, "What can I do to fix it?" Wearing more sunscreen (check out the best and worst sunblocks according to real women here) was the first thing that popped into my head, yet that's more of a prevention-type thing. Hmmm …

  • Just as I was trying to justify these wrinkles to myself as "laugh lines," I found this list of proven tricks, tips and secrets from skin doctors, celebrity makeup artists and women who have aged gracefully on how to look and feel forever young. (Sunscreen's still the number one-dermatologist-recommended "trick" to fighting aging -- thank you very much.) From enlarged pores to brown spots, these tidbits of info will help you (and hopefully me!) squash signs of aging.

  • Tip 1: Use peptides regularly.

  • Nearly every dermatologist we've consulted about anti-aging products recommends peptides like those found in the Olay Regenerist Skin Care Starter Trio, $62.

  • A good set of peptides (yes, there's such thing as a bad set) can trick the skin into producing more collagen, a skin cell protein that makes you look young.

  • Tip 2: Avoid acidic foods.

  • By eating a diet that's rich in alkalinizing foods (like dark leafy greens, filtered water, lemons, nuts, seeds, olive oil and specific whole grains) and sparse in acidic foods (like sugar, cola, coffee, dairy and animal proteins), your body's pH level may remain higher (more alkaline) and show fewer signs of aging. Take this quiz to find out if your diet is making you look old.

  • Tip 3: Use anti-aging makeup.

  • There's anti-acne makeup, so why not anti-aging makeup? Using cream-based foundations, blushes and concealers that contain hydrating ingredients can help ensure your skin retains moisture throughout the day and stays protected from aging environmental factors. See what makeup trick gives the appearance of smaller pores.

  • Check out seven more tips on how to combat aging, which include exfoliation, hydration, and, um, more hydration.

  • Which celebs have the best and worst skin? See photos here.

  • • Have additional brain capacity for even more anti-aging info? Here are 10 things you never knew about aging.

  • • Psst… Find out the anti-aging secrets of top dermatologists (no medical degree required to steal their tricks).
