Why: Readers say they can't stand the smell the most saying: "I didn't care for this hairspray, it was kind of sticky and [didn't give] that great of a hold. It also has a slight fragrance, which I didn't like. Not worth the cost to me." Another agrees saying, "I got this for my husband to try and we both couldn't stand the smell of it -- it's horrible. I had to ask him to wash it out of his hair!" One reader exclaims, "witch hazel smells like warm poop. I guess if you like the smell of warm poop, you would be a happy user of witch hazel. I almost passed out from the smell."

I am really shocked because the John Frieda Frizz Ease works wonders in my naturally wavy hair. I spray it all over my hair while it's still damp, clip it up, and when i take it out it's just curls and waves. But I'm sorry others don't like it!

I hope my Dove extra hold non-aerosol hairspray is better than aerosol. :( It has better ratings here, but I don't use enough for me to notice a huge difference throughout the day.

Elnett is the best and has a great price tag. Aussie is also another good spray.

Hair spray is bad for the environment and your hair. Unless you work at a salon, just use mousse or hair gel.

I've tried the Tousle Me Softly and I agree with the feedback that was given. If you have thick hair, like me, it does nothing. It made my hair frizzy and dry looking. Not cool. I use Herbal Essences Body Envy Volumizing hairspray (which is an aerosol) and not only works beautifully but also smells awesome!! I also liked Pantene Ice Shine aerosol hairspray. I think it's discontinued which stinks but it works really well for hold and shine.

The Samy spray is not that bad! It is not the BEST, but whatever....and I think it smells good! Kinda like oranges. the Fat hair spray is also good and so is the Frizz Ease one. I kinda disagree on this article:(

I have barely heard of any of the,, probably because they cost sooo much! I got a Dove hairspray on sale and it's amazing. It feels natural in my hair and it does the job very well!

The Shielo Volume Hairspray is my favorite volumizing hair spray. I have very fine straight hair, and I've tried all sorts of products. With this, I spray all over my hair first. Then I can curl it with a curling iron(which is rare, my straight hair never wants to curl). Then I flip my head upside down and spray all over. My curls and volume last all day.
