What you’ll need:
Flat boar-bristle brush
Lightweight shine serum (Farber used Kerastase Reflection Chroma Protect Polishing Cream, $34.)
Step 1: Blow-dry hair straight with a round brush and follow up with a flatiron to straighten if necessary.
Step 2: Apply a dime-sized amount of shine serum throughout dry hair.
Step 3: Using the boar-bristle brush, brush hair into a high pony and secure with an elastic.
Step 4: Use the pomade to smooth flyways or frizz in the front of your hair for a sleek look.
Step 5: Take a two-inch section of hair from the ponytail and wrap it around the elastic, securing it underneath the pony with a bobby pin. You can use multiple sections to fully cover the elastic if necessary. (See photo A.)
Step 6: Divide the hanging pony into one- to two-inch sections and curl the midshaft to ends with a curling iron. (See photo B.)
Step 7: Spritz the top of your head and ponytail with hairspray to set the look.
