How to conceal under-eye bags

You need: liquid concealer with lifting ingredients + latex sponge + loose powder

How to apply: To counteract the yellow, bluish hues under the eyes, Dedivanovic says to use a peach-based concealer. A lot of concealers have a yellow-base, which would only make the area look more dull and sallow. "The peach brings warmth to the area," he says.

And since the eye area is susceptible to fine lines, make sure the concealer has a lifting ingredient like vitamin A to prevent the concealer from settling into the creases. Dedivanovic loves DiorSkin Sculpt Smoothing Lifting Concealer, $35.

Finish by running a sponge under water, squeeze the water out, dip into loose powder, then dab over the area to set the concealer. Dedivanovic recommends the Beauty Blender, $26, which he calls "the greatest thing to happen to makeup in many years."

Does anyone know where to get the velour puff brush Mario mentions in the article. I can find velour puffs but not a brush. He says to use it with your loose powder instead of a raw material brush. Cant find a velour puff brush and need help

A plethora of excellent information--thank you! One thing I would add is two concealers made for delicate and/or aging skin--YSL's "Touch Eclat Radiant Touch Concealer" ($40.00) and Diorskin's "Nude Skin Perfecting Hydrating Concealer" ($30). YSL includes a brush applicator; with Dior's version, you work with a concealer brush of your own or your fingertips. In either case, the formulas are extremely lightweight, glide on seamlessly, and do not adhere to creases. They can be used in the tiny hollows at the insides of eyes for a "wide awake" look.

I liked this article. I struggle constantly with bags/puffiness in my under eye area. I have always been told to HYDRATE and the puffiness will go away. However, unfortunately for me, the puffiness and "bags" under my eyes are hereditary and no amount of liquid is going to change that for me. I've used many types of concealers and watched hundreds of video tutorials about concealing the under eye area, but I have not experienced any luck. I appreciate the diversity in concealers mentioned in your article. I've used elf products, but never considered mixing it with a highlighter - I found this very helpful. So while I've been trying to conceal my bags with yellow tinted concealer and just regular spot concealer, I am anxious to give the technique in your article a try. I am cautiously optomistic that I will see results.

Good tips and techniques. I have a small facial birthmark I won't ever cover up b/c its unique to me, but I do use a concealer like dermablend which has more pigment in it to even out the sun spots on my forehead and under my eyes.

Some good tips. Remember that concealing blemishes with some products actually contributes to & "feeds" them, which can worsen results, & allow breakouts to last longer.

This did give me a better step by step for what people do. The green concealer is one of the few things that did help my sensitive, red, dry skin during the winter. Had a more expensive brand with a stick applicator and it irritated my skin and did not cover anything.
