Makeup Tutorial: The Daytime Cat Eye

If you're only going to have one eyeliner trick up your sleeve, daytime cat eye makeup should be it

Keep your makeup subtle The old rule of thumb that you should play up one feature is especially true when it comes to the cat eye. The eyes are the focus, and everything else should be natural. Use your favorite blush and lip gloss but apply lightly, and if you feel naked without color on your lids, Stapleton suggests a nude shadow like MAC Cosmetics Eye Shadow in Blanc Type, $15. Bailey suggests leaving your lower lashline completely bare.

you need a sure hand for this, and practice makes perfect, but not every body is willing to spend all this time to practice on their eyes..

The cat eye is one of my favorite looks. I like how versatile it can be when using neutral/nude shadows of when combining deeper shadows. Love it.

I like putting nude eyeshadows with shimmer on before I do the cat eye look because it's hard to make my brown eyes pop; this always works though.

Probably one of the best articles I have read on this site. I wear liquid eyeliner everyday. You really don't even need to change your eyeshadow to make a day look a night look if it's done right!

Good description, I have strugged with learning this and have given up trying and then try again a while later. Always one eye is difficult while the other isnt a problem. Also the makeup must be right and that can be hard regardless,of type and cost as they can drag or skip or be blobby or not enough pigment, too watery etc.. its a process to find. I wish a few more pics of the final part of adding the wing and joining it that would be very helpful, worth a thoudad words right?
