Sick of your hairstylist offering "long layers" as the only option for your "I love my long hair" hair? These are the best long haircuts that are happening now
Blended texture Celebrity hairstylist Sarah Potempa is having a "cool, rocker-chick moment," she says. Instead of the meticulously blended layers that have been the norm for years, she prefers choppy layers that are a little rough at the ends. This style works well with naturally wavy hair -- the more texture the better. And the length can vary from long to mid-length.
Thank you for mentioning the donation of hair. I try to mention it when I can, but never knew the different lengths asked for. Also, some area hairdressers will actually sometimes be able to do it too.
I've wanted to have "mermaid hair" for years. My hair is super thick but never grows past mid-back. I finally got over the super long hair and wear mine a couple inches below the collarbone. It really does look better on me and it looks thicker. Great article!
I've always had long, waist-length hair and I tried cutting long layers 3 times and it never worked for me. I could never style it the same way as my stylist and it was too difficult for me to do everyday. I like leaving it long and straight. Some of these looks are great but you have to do what works for you.
I like the idea of "undercut layers". That seems like it could really look nice curled. I have to be leery of cutting too much as my hair is naturally wavy/curly. I might have to try one of these those!
I see so many girls with long damaged hair. It looks like a burning bush but I guess they will think men will reject them if they get rid of their split ends.
I have waist length hair that I straighten and rarely curl. I've layered it several times, regretted it, and couldn't wait for it to grow back. Before any cut, consider how long you're willing to style it. I always loved how my layers looked, but I could never do it myself. I'm a wash and go girl, now that I know that I'm much happier with my long "boring" hair than some trendy look that's not me anyway.
dont really think any of these are for me. i think long hair is in right now. i have super straight long blonde hair and i wouldnt cut it for a million dollars.... but thats just me. All i know is guys love the long hair!
i have long hair and i really didn't see anything new, or innovative. although, the description of the choppy layers did sound like something i would try. i couldn't really tell by the picture, though.
first of all how are these new? Most of them just looked like the inbetween haircut hair (when its almost time to cut it but not yet) also i found it funny that they called the "Blended texture" hair rocker hair.. really? wow... that was one of the most feminine and sweet cuts i saw on this.
my hair is middle of back length, on purpose and i like it, my hairdresser always comments on its great condition, yet at 55 soon to be 56 i wonder if i should or need to make a change? i tried super short at age 50 so i won't be doing that again, i thought some of the ideas were helpful, i have never heard of undercut layers before
Maybe its me but some of the pictures just don't seem to go with the cut descriptions. From the pictures used, these cuts don't seem all that "new" to me either. I'm giving it 5 stars for trying to give us updated info but wish the pics were more true to the descriptions.
Cute styles! I am trying to grow out my hair, it's always been short so this is new territory for me. I struggle with the "in between" stages of growing it out, so I end up pulling it back a lot of the time. It's nice to see some styling options!
