No. 2: Redken Spray Starch 15 Heat Memory Styler, $10.67

TotalBeauty.com average reader rating: 9.7*
Why: Readers believe this hairspray is "just like the name," but doesn't leave hair "stiff or crunchy." One reader calls this a "miracle worker" and as a cosmetologist, she asks readers to "believe me when I say that NOTHING holds memory like this stuff." Another reader thinks this hairspray is a "secret weapon" that makes every hairstyle look professionally done.

Good to know

I don't use hair spray much because I am always afraid it will make my hair all stiff, crunchy & sticky feeling. I like Suave's root volume spray, it gives you a firm hold without getting too hard. I use it all over since it seems more gentle than other sprays.

I rarely use hairspray, but it is good to see what to buy next.

I use Paul Mitchell on my curls. it may be a little more pricey, but it lasts longer.

though I don't use hairspray on a daily basis, this list is extremely helpful!

this is an incredibly helpful list! i love touching my hair and there are a lot of choices here that actually still allow you to touch your soft, but styled hair. i will have to investigate more and decide on which one to try!
