Could You Live Without Beauty Products for 30 Days?
One addict reports what it's like to use nothing but soap and sunscreen
We know what you're thinking: Why would anyone in her right mind want to give up her shampoo, conditioner, hairstyling products, skin care products and makeup? But then we thought, with all this talk of harmful ingredients (like the ones mentioned on this list) and the virtue of inner beauty, maybe we could learn a thing or two from a product 'diet.' See what this product junkie discovered when she switched from using 27 products a day to using only body wash and sunscreen for a full month. Her experience may surprise you, and inspire you to think about how many products you really need to look and feel gorgeous every day.
Or maybe after reading this you'll realize that the answer isn't about abandoning products altogether, but looking into your kitchen cabinets for natural ingredients that offer beauty benefits like hydration, oil absorption, etc. These homemade beauty product recipes are all made out of basic edible ingredients -- and they work. Maybe in the spirit of this woman's journey you'll try supplementing some of your bottled products for them.

good lord. you're absolutely stunning without the makeup. if you have dry skin and need lotion or something than use that. there's no need for anything else, you're beautiful without it.

Amazing! I used to wear a lot of makeup while my mom wears none and looks younger than her real age. Perhaps it's because she doesn't stress her skin. I've been wearing less makeup and now I think natural beauty is more attractive and better for my skin and hair health. I've been experimenting with healthy food masks and scrubs too! They work better than any store-bought chemical solutions. I've tried not washing my hair for a few weeks too to restore it's health..needless to say the oil made me look like Les Miserables too but it was worth it after I finally shampooed it! What a cool and brave idea. I should try it. ;)

antiperspirant is NOT a beauty product! along with soap and toothpaste, it is just common courtesy in our society to keep yourself, clothing, hair, underarms, feet and mouth clean so as not to be offensive to those around you. unless your coworkers and fellow commuters on mass transit like B.O.

Urban Decay has some vegan products. I heard about a lot of this years ago except for the foreskins and the dead animals. Products like lancome and others that don't list ingredients have bothered me. I love cosmetics and will continue to use them with caution. Thanks for the information. I thought that it was necessary to list the placenta as human if they used it otherwise it's animal. Is that correct?
