10 Things Every Beauty Editor Keeps on Her Desk

Find out which products beauty editors have on hand at all times -- then stock your desk accordingly

Perfume I keep my favorite, everyday fragrances at home, but I always have at least one perfume on my desk at work that I love -- but I'm not so sure is me. Case in point: Roberto Cavalli eau de Parfum, $65. It's wildly sexy -- created for the leopard-print-wearing Cavalli woman (not quite my persona) -- so it's perfect for a night out. I spritz it on before leaving to meet my husband for dinner, and it makes me feel mysterious.

Editors also tend to collect unusual and hard to find fragrances, and my co-worker, senior editor Sarah Carrillo, is no exception. She has a cool, modern bottle of Jil Sander No. 4 eau de Parfum, $65, displayed next to her computer. The elegant floral was discontinued and then brought back as an Ulta exclusive.

Great Article-especially seeing Korres Lip Butter mentioned. I have been a fan of Korres for quite a while-especially the lip butter which I will not be without-one in my bag and on my make-up table. Far from an expensive product but a very good one-their antiaging primer fills in lines and has very good additives and silicone free. We really do not have to go the poor house to look good. I am a beauty and cosmetics translator and I have most of those items plus a stack of dictionaries piled up on my desk. I even have a couple of bottles of nail polish and I do my nails when I need to take a break from translating ! :) Great article. Really enjoyed reading it!

I have a nail file, lotion and cuticle cream in my desk. I always have perfume in my purse, so I don't keep it in my desk. I'll have to think about getting the stress relief gel, though. I could use it!

I keep a stash of simialr products. The one thing I won't keep on hand is an emery board. I feel like they shred up my nail. I only use crystal or glass files.

Fun to see what you editors keep at your desks. But I burn wonderful-smelling candles and savor every inhalation of the scent. The smell - and the whole experience - is very different when the candle is burning.

definitely agree with those choices - dry shampoo is a MUST! Suave makes a yummy smelling one for around 3 bucks - works just as well as the pricy ones. I also have a mini flat iron on hand.
