We don't like to trash products, but there's nothing more disappointing than one that fails to deliver. Find out which items made us weep in frustration, then tell us whether you agree.

Smashbox Lip Enhancing Gloss , $18 TotalBeauty.com rating: 2.5 What we said: "'Lip enhancing'? Meh, not so much with these non-plumping, yet vibrant glosses. Color only lasts through a half-hour commute, and it's hard to ignore the plastic aroma and grainy texture while you're wearing it (albeit briefly). OK, so the wand applicator evenly distributes, but really, who cares when the gloss tastes like contact lens solution? MAC Clear Lipglass is a better option; it lasts longer, has a smoother texture and contains moisturizing jojoba oil." -- TotalBeauty.com editorial team Agree? Disagree? Post your review Next Page: Low-rated hairdryer Revlon Tourmaline Ionic 1875 Watt Hairdryer , $34.44 TotalBeauty.com rating: 4 What we said: "This lightweight device dries fast and has attachments, but don't let buzz words like 'ionic' and 'ceramic' seduce you into buying it. Bad design and bogus claims had me ready to go back to the louder, heavier Elchim 1800. Despite having multiple settings, this dryer's heat was too intense and its frizz-fighting 'Ion Select Dial' futile. Most frustrating were the shockingly short cord and poorly placed buttons, which caused me to shut off power unintentionally several times per blow-dry." -- Reviewed by Beth , Editor Agree? Disagree? Post your review Next page: Low-rated shine treatment Redken All Soft Gold Glimmer Perfecting Shine Treatment , $13 TotalBeauty.com rating: 3 What we said: "'Shine treatment' brings a serum texture to mind, but this was a thicker, gel-like goo infused with golden flecks. When sparingly applied from hair ends to mid-shaft, you can expect to get some separation and added texture -- which is odd because it's meant to soften and add shine to hair. (It didn't.) The smell is amazing (nutty, shea buttery), but I recommend skipping this and trying the All Soft Shampoo and Conditioner instead. They're stellar." -- Reviewed by Kristen , Editor Agree? Disagree? Post your review Next page: Low-rated firming serum Murad Firm and Tone Serum , $75 TotalBeauty.com rating: 3 What we said: "Clear and gel-like in consistency, this serum firms on contact, and it's nice that Murad does independent clinical trials to back up claims. Does it 'mask imperfections' like spider veins, bruises or stretch marks? Not one bit. The $75 price tag is absurd, particularly with the 'works best with' recommendation (printed right on the bottle) to buy two additional Murad products." -- TotalBeauty.com Editorial Team Agree? Disagree? Post your review Next page: Low-rated body bronzer Nars Body Glow , $59 TotalBeauty.com rating: 4 What we said: "I first saw this on a Brazilian model during a fashion show. Immediate thought: I can have her gorgeous, tan skin, too. After warming the partially solidified oil with water, I rubbed it all over, hoping to be an instant bronze goddess. Instead, the shimmery color was sheer (duh: 'Glow') and rubbed off on my white dress. (Booo.) The coconut fragrance enchanted as the oil moisturized skin. Some use it to add shine to hair, but too much makes strands look oily." -- Reviewed by Charli , Editor Agree? Disagree? Post your review Next page: Low-rated mascara Bobbi Brown Everything Mascara , $20 TotalBeauty.com rating: 4 What we said: "Everything? Really? For something that 'lengthens, thickens and defines,' you'd expect to see a dramatic difference, but unless you were lucky enough to be born with monster lashes, after using it yours will look nice at best. It's true there's no 'smearing or clumping,' but for $20 a pop, it better not. Unless you're completely brand loyal to Bobbi, drugstore brands like Maybelline New York Great Lash will do the same job for a lot less." -- TotalBeauty.com editorial team Agree? Disagree? Post your review Next page: Low-rated face mist Skyn Iceland Arctic Face Mist , $35 TotalBeauty.com rating: 3.5 What we said: "Let's call it what it is: an over-hyped bottle of water and fragrance. Like Evian Brumisateur Mineral Water Spray, this cooling facial mist aims to sooth irritated, stressed skin, but the effects seem more mental than visible. We love the sound of Icelandic herb-infused glacial water, but walking through a mist of plain ice water would probably produce similar results. The main exception is the debatably pleasing scent -- a cross between menthol and Acqua di Gio." -- Reviewed by Charli , Editor Agree? Disagree? Post your review Next page: Low-rated mascara Maybelline New York Define-A-Lash Mascara , $7.49 TotalBeauty.com rating: 3.5 What we said: "A mascara that promises 'zero clumps' with 'stunning length' and 'clean definition' at this price sounds too good to be true -- and it is. The reason it doesn't clump? The formula is so thin, you'll need at least two coats to get decent lash definition. Then it starts clumping. Also, the bendable rubber applicator takes some getting used to; it feels really strange and flimsy at first." -- TotalBeauty.com editorial team Agree? Disagree? Post your review Next page: Low-rated conditioner Lush Jungle Conditioner , $9.50 TotalBeauty.com rating: 2.5 What we said: "While the strong smell might be nice for some (think patchouli) the inability to detangle makes this a terrible conditioner. High-maintenance how-to warning: You have to soak the bar in water, rub between palms, spread into hair and rinse out after a minute. Even after all that, hair was left a knotted mess. It contains cocoa butter, but the fresh avocado, fig and banana (natural conditioners) don't seem to add any moisture." -- TotalBeauty.com editorial team Agree? Disagree? Post your review Next page: Low-rated moisturizer/self-tanner/stubble reducer in one Sally Hansen Smooth Glow Stubble Reducing Moisturizer , $6.99 TotalBeauty.com rating: 3 What we said: "One little bottle claims to offer so much: moisturizer, self-tanner and stubble reducer all in one. Shea, mango and cocoa butters are great moisturizers, but you're in for an epic wait (more than the usual self-tanner) while the lotion dries. The product claims '70 percent of testers experienced a 50 percent reduction in hair removal,' but we found no decrease in stubble." -- TotalBeauty.com editorial team Agree? Disagree? Post your review Next page: Low-rated straightening spray John Frieda Frizz-Ease Straight Answer Spray , $5.99 TotalBeauty.com rating: 4 What we said: "This product somewhat helps wavy hair stay straight, but doesn't leave it soft or shiny. On the contrary, it leaves a stiff residue like firm-hold hairspray. Sprayed on wet hair, it's undetectable, but you'll feel like you're blow-drying with no product -- an unpleasant experience that causes breakage. Frizz-Ease Clearly Defined Style Holding Gel is a better alternative; it straightens and allows the brush to glide through hair." -- Reviewed by Beth , Editor Agree? Disagree? Post your review Next page: Low-rated hand wash Molton Brown Naran Ji Fine Liquid Hand Wash , $23 TotalBeauty.com rating: 3.5 What we said: " Whaaa? $23 on hand soap? You might be able to rationalize the splurge if your hard-working hands really deserve a treat. This wash comes in five scents and is "soap-free" so it leaves skin feeling clean, but not dry. But we're crying foul because the packaging implies the wash reduces fine lines when there's nary a retinol or alpha hydroxy acid in the ingredient list. And, hello, it's a wash, so any anti-aging property goes down the drain." -- TotalBeauty.com editorial team Agree? Disagree? thanks! would be really sad to spend money on one of those more expensive products to realize they are no good.

Smash box is not one of my faves! The bar conditioner looks interesting, but I can't stand patchulli.

I have been disappointed with almost every Smashbox product except for one of their primers.

Good list. Wouldn't want to try out products that even editors don't like.
