Gregory Arlt, Director of Makeup Artistry at MAC Cosmetics:

Hello I'm Gregory Arlt, Director of Makeup Artistry for MAC Cosmetics. And the look I'm going to demonstrate is a Halloween makeup look of a character that most every 'lil girl wanted to be when she grew up, or at least I did: a fairy princess. It's all about glitter, all about shine, all about the bling. I've actually started with a foundation, which I recommend you to do at home.

So I'm starting with a light pink frosted shadow and I'm using this all over the entire eye from the brow to the lash line. And again this is a sort of beautiful metallic silver pink shadow. This look is very easy to get because it's a lot about a little burst of color. I'm taking a very bright pink blush with a fluffy brush and I'm just using just a little bit right in the crease of the eye just for a little burst of color. And just use the brush back and forth. So now I'm taking the same eye shadow that I used for the eyelids adding a 'lil bit to inner rims, the inner corners, because that makes the eyes really pop out nicely. And now we're going to finish the look with mascara - any color will do. I love using black, because I'm going to pop on some false lashes as well. Really work the mascara into the lashes so they separate nicely, so they're not too clumpy. So now I'm going to apply false lashes and I've used the adhesive that dries clear so that it's undetectable, because I'm not going to use any eyeliner with this look. So now that we have the lashes on, let's move down south for some blush.

I'm going to use the same color that I used on her eyes, right on the apple of her cheek using a nice big fluffy blush brush. And this just gets a nice burst of color as well. So take the brush and just connect it to the eye shadow.

So now I'm using a very bright frosted pink lipstick. And go crazy. You can even go brighter if you want, but I chose to go bright but a little on the sheer side so it's more like a stain. So now it's time to make the eyes really pop by adding some glitter. I love a little bit of glitter. So what I'm going to do first is apply a little bit of an adhesive all over the eyelid. This is actually a liquid adhesive that you can get at a beauty supplies or a Halloween shop. And then we're going to pop some glitter all over the lids on the same brush and really go all over the eyelids.

So now it's time to add some glitter to the lips. I'm using some really bright pink glitter on my lip brush and just pressing it right onto the lips. Now you can use chunkier glitter if you want, I chose to use a more subtle glitter so that it has shine on all the right places. So we have blown glitter all over her face to make her look fairy beautiful. So if you don't have someone to do this for you at home, what you can do is tilt your head back and sprinkle glitter all over your face.

So there are a multitude of things you can do with this Halloween makeup look. You can put on a curly wig and put flowers into it or put on wings and just be the biggest fairy you can ever be.

Love, love, love the Halloween Make-up styles and looks. Keep them coming!! I'm a ballroom dancer and we have a competitive costume party every Halloween. More Ideas and assistance with keeping the make-up on despite continuous sweaty dancing would also help!! Keep the costume make-up coming as it is giving me some ideas. What about aliens--Romulan's, Vulcan's, etc.??
