These were good tips, but I have to disagree about the lip liner...if you use a feather proof liner, you'll be fine. I also use my clinique pore minimizer around my lips, which creates a barrier and keeps the lip colors from feathering.

Lipstick without liner is kind of blah and if you are not blessed with nice, full lips then adding some definition is key (I think). You don't have to be heavy handed and there are beautiful light shades
