The first step on a seamless concealing job on African-American skin is to find a concealer that has a high percentage of pigment in it so that it truly covers the redness or darkness. Many of the concealers made for dark skin will do, but make sure it'll cover everything. Test it out on a freckle or vein like we're doing here. You should barely be able to see through the makeup.
To make sure you get enough of the makeup to really cover, use a synthetic brush. It'll give you a smoother finish than a natural hairbrush. Load up your makeup brush with the concealer. Then dot the color on the head of the pimple and use feathery strokes to blend it into the skin surrounding the bump. Next, dip a makeup sponge into loose face powder. You'll use this to set the concealer so that it won't budge. Roll over the spot with the makeup sponge and if you'd like to use foundation, you can follow up a layer afterwards. Just make sure you use a light hand over the acne spot you concealed so well or you'll undo your work.
