  Best mascara primer on the market...

  I used to use Origins underwear primer but after trying this I will no go back to anything else. This saved all my cheapie drugstore mascaras that I brought on a whim and about to toss. One coat of this base before ANY mascara compensates for any inadequacy your mascara has and exaggerates the benefits of your mascara. S...ay goodbye to flaky mascara and hello to extra voluminous, extra defined, and extra long lashes! Complete heaven for lashes. Did I mention my Asian stick-straight lashes holds the curl better too with this stuff? Run, don't walk, to the nearest department store to get this!!!! February 14, 2008, 2:06 am

  Wow, this stuff is great! It actually held my curl! No mascara ever does, I have very very straight lashes and usually after I curl and put on mascara they end up falling and I have to curl after the mascara as dried (yeah I know really really bad). With this I don't have to do that, the curl stays exactly how it was even w...hen I put on mascara. It also thickens and lenghthens, I didn't even have to put that much mascara on after this.   Makes all mascaras AMAZING!

  I have short, wimpy, stick-straight eyelashes so mascara is an essential part of my beauty routine. Most mascaras leave my lashes droopy. Mascaras that work well for me tend to be of the waterproof formula variety, but waterproof formulas are harsh and damage my lashes. Shiseido Mascara Base to the rescue!!! The base ho...lds a curl well, gives my lashes oomph and conditions them! Another bonus is that the base is clear so I don't have to meticulously paint over the base. The price is high ($22), but since I can use any cheapie drugstore mascara with it for beautiful lashes, it's well worth every penny! November 5, 2007, 5:30 pm

  LOVE IT!

  At first I wasn't a huge fan because I was using it wrong. You need to apply your mascara before it dries. Not only does it thicken and lengthen my lashes but it turns my discount mascara into a semi-waterproof mascara. I highly recommend this product! November 13, 2007, 9:58 am

  wouldn't come off!!

  i too wanted to love this mascara base.. it was the only one out there that kept the curl in my lashes.. at the end of the day, it just would not wash off.. i probably used every makeup remover possible, and it still was glued onto my lashes. days later you could still see residue under my eyes.. i promptly sent this back..... i never lost so many eyelashes before i purchased this product..   It's a great multi-tasker.. which is why this base is definitely a must-have in my makeup bag. It comes on clear, conditions, and immediately adds definition and volume. The way it holds my curls all day long without making my lashes stiff is what made me fall in love with it. To top it all off, it adds longevity to your fa...vorite mascara.   A really good product

  I use it on my unruly brows to keep them in line and frequently on my lashes if I want something that will, for sure, last the whole day. It resembles dry Elmers glue when new and I wound up adding water to it to thin it out and liked it better this way and, of course, it goes further. I was surprised that adding water w...orks so well but it is much more usable. I can use any old mascara over it and get good results. I don't always use it. It takes a lot of eye makeup remover to get it off and I don't always want to bother. Really good for long days and special nights. December 3, 2007, 5:18 pm

  a treasure!

  I recently had my make-up done by an artist at the Macy's store at downtown crossing in Boston and was 1st introduced to this product. The artist raved about this product. I'll admit, I was skeptical at 1st (I have a drawer full of products that don't work!) but this lived up to its reputation. It prevented clumping and hel...d my mascara all day long.   i really can not image how i lived without this base before. This base helps me avoid smudging, it holds my curls, gives length and gives volume. i use it with every mascara and it works wonders, especially with diorshow...the only con side to this is that it is very hard to remove, but i find that lancome bi-facil does the... trick. thank you shiseido, i no longer have to live with raccoon eyes.   I use this mascara base when I want my lashes to stand out when going on a night out. It does help with volumizing your lashes, makes them thicker looking and adds length. It made my mascara work better than if I had just used it by itself. A friend actually asked me if I was wearing false eyelashes (which I hardly ever ...wear). The only caveat is it's hard to remove as it really stays put! You need an oil based eye makeup remover to remove it. Also, it's a bit too overbearing for daytime wear so for that reason, I only use it when going out at night. May 9, 2009, 8:36 pm
