It's soap!
I love Olay products for body care. I got the opportunity to try this soap from Total Beauty and I was not super impressed by this bar soap after using it for a couple of days. The fragrance is very soothing, and fresh, just like cucumber. Like I said though, I have tried other products by Olay and I have been very satisfied but this product does not compare. The soap is not really moisturizing and does not leave the skin soft. So I guess if you want a soap that leaves you skin clean and fresh (just like any soap is supposed to do), this is the soap to try, since you can always moisturize with lotion right after the shower. I also liked that it's infused with avocado oil. Another thing i liked is the beautiful translucent green color, and how the massaging bar feels great on the upper back. Not for Me
I love Olay products-they tend to be the best at Skincare out there, PLUS affordable. TB was generous enough to send me a full size bar to try and review. While I loved the massage nubs on the bar, that's where the love ended for me. This soap left my skin feeling dried out and tight like other bar soaps. It is very highly fragranced--that was the big deal killer for me. I think the amount of fragrance caused my skin to be itchy. I did not like the smell at all. It was the signature Olay scent which is very perfume with a touch of cucumber. The scent lingered in my bathroom all day and my husband even commented that he did not like the smell of the new soap I was using. I recommend you smell it before you buy it. You will definitely be able to smell it through the wrapper. You probably also want to avoid it if you have any skin allergy or sensitivity. It's a nice soap - bar lasts!
I was fortunate to try this for Total Beauty. It's a nice soap. The fragrance is light and clean and doesn't linger, so it doesn't compete with your perfume. I don't have real dry skin on my body, so it was hydrating enough for me, but someone with dryer skin would probably need a moisturizer after showering. The clear bar seems to last longer than a lot of bars. It seems to dry faster, therefore it is hard again quicker and doesn't turn mushy. The "massaging design" is OK. When having massaging bumps on a bar of soap you have tom expect that they are not going to last for very long and certainly not going to last the life of the bar of soap. It would be impossible for them to wear down in such a way that they would stay higher than the rest of the bar. So they're nice for a few uses, as long as you use the bar to directly rub onto your skin. It was nice for sore legs. After the first few uses I used the soap with a washcloth or scrubby. It provides a generous amount of rich, creamy lather, however I used it. It rinses cleaner than many bar soaps and doesn't leave film behind on my skin. It also doesn't leave a layer of soap scum in the shower to clean up, which is always a plus! All in all it's soap. Has some nice features, but personally I'll stick to shower gel - I just like it better.
