Aveeno Pure Renewal Conditioner Reviews

A great, inexpensive conditioner.
I really enjoyed using this conditioner. I enjoyed the scent and felt that it did a great job of moisturizing my hair without using harsh chemicals. I also loved that it did a great job of detangling my hair in the shower, and didn't dry out my already dry hair. I felt that it left my hair silky, shiny, and smooth. I think this is a really great conditioner for the price! I would recommend it :) — 1 year, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 4 people said helpful

Aveeno = Love
Absolutely love the bottle design on this line of haircare. Very sleek, weightless & easy to pop open in the shower while covered in suds. It also makes it simpler to store away in my cabinets. The conditioner itself smells great, very light clean scent that is not cloying or overpowering. Thick, extremely slick & creamy consistency. Did not have to worry about it sliding down my neck or forehead while I did my thing in the shower. Washes out easily & left my hair feeling SO SOFT & fine. I have very thick, some what dry, frizzy & color treated hair. My hair has never felt so fine before! It is almost slippery to the touch because of all the moisturizers. While some gals with already baby fine hair might cringe at the sound, I am in hair heaven with Aveeno! It heals up all the color treating abuse with ease & leaves behind a clean scent & fresh feeling scalp. Definitely recommend & will be purchasing a bottle when this one runs out! Thanks so much to Total Beauty for giving me this to try out. It was like you knew this product was perfect for me!! — 1 year, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 3 people said helpful

ALMOST perfect
I LOVED this product. The ONLY thing that would prevent me from regularly buying this is that, after checking, I discovered that the company STILL needlessly engages in animal testing while many others do not. I hope they read this and others voice their concern to them. I have lately been trying really hard to steer clear of these companies. Other than than I would score this conditioner 1000. It is has a light floral fragrance (I am in the minority to prefer fragrance free, but am okay with this fragrance). I got a full sized sample along with the companion shampoo and tried this for a week, both with the companion shampoo and my normal shampoo. I prefer the performance of this conditioner by far to any other conditioner I've tried. It makes my color treated, straight, baby fine hair soft, shiny, frizz free, silky while not weighing it down or looking greasy or clumpy. It detangles really well, too. I relunctantly passed it along to my little one who has fine. tangly, long hair and it has done wonders for her hair, too, especially since I don't use styling products or heat on her. It is inexpensive, the brand goes on sale often, and offers coupons. Aveeno, please STOP animal testing!!!! I LOVE this product and would love to be a loyal customer, but for now, my conscience keeps me from buying this. I cannot justify great hair at the cost of great (and unecessary) suffering of defenseless animals. Other hair product companies with great products have stopped. Aveeno promotes "natural"--step it up, be a leader, and be cruelty free, too. — 1 year, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Supple locks
The Aveeno Pure Renewal Conditioner is DIVINE. The conditioner kept my hair from going haywire. My waves when I wore my hair wavy would look luscious. I would not normally say that about my locks, but usually they look dry and unkempt. Even when I blow dry my hair (which is everyday), I still had soft and supple locks. My hair even had a healthy shine to it. I have even used the conditioner without the shampoo (using a different shampoo) and I still had the same results. I would definitely use this every single day, but after finding out that Aveeno tests on animals, I won’t be buying this. If you can get past the animal testing, go for it. Otherwise, I’d try to find something else that gives me the same results. — 1 year, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Just ok
This condition softens your hair and doesn't turn your color brassy. I also like that it doesn't have a strong fragrance. I did have a bit of a breakout on my hairline. I don't think I would buy. — 1 year, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Healthy hair
Great conditioner makes my hair soft and look and feel healthy. Nice light scent, works well with the pure renewal shampoo. Nice product especially for the price! — 1 year, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 1 people said helpful

Good Conditioner
While I disliked the Pure Renewal shampoo, I've found that I like the way this conditioner works with my normal volumizing shampoo. It does a good job at softening and detangling my hair, and it smells nice. I usually go for intense treatment-type conditioning products, because my hair's pretty damaged, and I found this to perform on a comparable level. — 1 year, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

The reason I don't give it a 10
I don't give it a 10 because there is less in the bottle than your average drugstore conditioner and it costs more. I love it because it does not irritate my skin and it is sulfate free. My sensitive skin reacts horribly with hair products like Tresseme (though it's a great bargain and does wonders for my hair). Aveeno has a reputation for being as natural as you can get. It holds up with this conditioner. As for the hair itself, it does moisturize, and give some shine. This would not be a bad choice if you have had the Keratin treatment. — 10 months, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

First "pure" conditioner I've tried
When I first got this conditioner I really wasn't sure what was so "pure" about it. Aren't shampoos the products with sulfates? How do sulfates effect the performance of a conditioner? Armed with these questions I tried this conditioner on my fine, color treated hair. I was actually surprised at how well it moisturized. There was lot of slip and I was able to run my wide tooth comb through it easily in the shower (I distribute conditioner through my hair in the shower with the wide tooth comb and let it sit for a few minutes under the steam before rinsing). I felt like the product was rinsed away easily and didn't see any evidence of build up in the week or so that I tried it. No breakouts along the hair line which is a big plus for me! My fine hair was not weighed down and my highlights looked brighter, not brassier so I have to say that it was a good conditioner for my hair type. Did I ever look up the answers to my questions? Nope, but I am still pleased with the results! — 1 year, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful
