Josie Maran Argan Cleansing Oil Reviews

Works Well
I think this is a very interesting product. It did a pretty good job at removing my makeup but I prefer to use it in the morning, when I can use the other brand products with it. I find that it refreshes and hydrates my skin without being drying at all. A little goes a long way and this product doesn't really lather up at all. It smells fantastic. — 8 months, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Josie Maran Cleansing Oil
I tried this product about a year ago and after a few uses I decided I hated it. Initially I broke out and it took forever to normalize my skin, and naturally I attributed that to brief interlude with this product. A few weeks or so ago I went back to give it a 2nd chance. My skin was starting to get wintery and that drives me insane on my face because between several times a week exfoliation, regular Clarisonic use, and high quality moisturizers, my skin was parched beyond words. The first night I used this before bed. For starters this product smells DIVINE. I would bathe in this scent if I could, it's amazing. Using it this time around was different. My skin seemed to soak up the moisture and even after washing and patting dry, it still sucked up moisturizer as well. Using this a few times a week, in place of my usual cleanser, seems to be better hydrating my skin. I haven't had any breakouts related to use, nor has my skin gotten oily. I'm going to continue using it this winter to see how much improvement I notice and will report back ASAP. In the meantime I think this is a quality product worth trying. A little pricey, but it's no worse than other cleansing oils at the same price point. Also, this is the only cleansing oil I've ever used, so I'm a bit biased. — 5 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Good Oil Cleanser
This cleanser is thicker than most oil cleansers that I've used.. But it works the same. I give myself a facial massage & then rinse it off. It emulsifies into a milky liquid when you apply water to it. It rinses off well & leaves my skin soft & clean. It does a great job at removing eye makeup. Occasionally I will follow up with a gentle regular cleanser if I feel I need it. While it's not my favorite (I prefer Boscia Cool Breakup Oil), it certainly does the job. — 6 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 2 people said helpful

ick
I was really disappointed with this product. I had read about how great oil cleansers are at removing make-up so I figured I would give this a try. First of all, I strongly agree with the other reviews, this stuff tastes terrible. I tried really hard to not get any in my mouth but it is completely impossible. I have never had that problem with a cleanser before. It also made my skin break out like crazy. I had read an article on this site saying that using an oil cleanser before my usual cleanser would help draw out oil and gunk and it would probably make my skin worse before it improved. I figured that all the new break outs were from that and if I just kept with it my skin would be better then ever. After two weeks of painful giant under the skin pimples (rarely got that kind before) developing on my chin and forehead, I gave up. For some reason the cleanser has also taken on a weird milkiness that it didn't have originally. I have accepted that good skincare costs more than I like to spend, but I really hate spending over $30 for something that not only didn't work, but made my skin significantly worse. — 11 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

Very different!
This is definitely not your normal cleanser. It doesn't lather at all, and I mean AT ALL. It claims it's suppose to "milk" up once you had water, but it really stays like an oil on your face. I do agree with the other post, do not get it in your mouth or eyes, because it's nasty and will BURN. I will stick with my lathering cleansers! — 1 year, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 2 people said helpful

Not my favorite
I purchased this at Sephora in Las Vegas as a treat (because I'm not used to spending $28 on a facial cleanser) but I'd heard such great things about it and had so much success with Josie's other products I decided to give it a whirl. All I can say is the first thing I noticed was the TASTE. No matter how much I tried to keep my mouth sealed shut, I would always get a taste of it and it is a horrible chemical-like bitter taste, ew. I didn't notice much of an impact on my skin either after using it a few weeks. On top of that, halfway through using it, it changed inside the bottle from clear to cloudy (no idea how that happened) and it started leaving an oil slick on my face. It was like literally rubbing baby oil on my face, a complete change from before. Not sure how that happened, other than it's an unstable formula. WOn't be purchasing again. — 1 year, 9 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 8 of 9 people said helpful
