Maybelline New York Fit Me! Foundation Reviews

Didn't quite FIT ME!
The positives: I was able to get samples from walmart of all of the FIT ME! foundation shades before purchasing. There a lot of shades from very light to medium to deep. The first shade I tried (120) for my medium-light, sensitive combination skin was a perfect match inside at in daylight, but the next shade lighter and darker were acceptably good too. It blended easily to matte finish. The There was no detectable fragrance, irritation, or acne breakout from this foundation. It is very affordable. What I was not thrilled about was that it was so sheer, it really did not cover at all. It did not even my coloring or conceal small lines or pores even when layered on. The other disappointment was that the color turned a bit peachy or orangey on me after a few hours--strange--never had that happen before. This was okay, but not the best--even at this price point. — 2 years, 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 11 of 12 people said helpful

surprisingly good
I had no intention of buying this foundation, but I'm glad that I did. It has a very good coverage for a foundation that's supposed to be "natural". It feels good on skin, and it doesn't have a weird smell. the color matches perfectly also. The only complaint is that it doesn't last all day. — 11 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Dumb
this feels like sticky crap. I've bought like 3 to see if it was just a bad batch, but no. It's just sticky crap that rubs off with a slight tap of the finger. It's a waste of $. Not worth the price, go buy Revlon Colorstay. Too light, not worthy of being called foundation. Craaaaap. — 2 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 5 of 10 people said helpful

Not bad
This looks pretty nice and the color did match me just fine. Decent coverage. Just missing that radiance I enjoy from a foundation. — 11 months, 3 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Oily Skin BEWARE
After 9 months of loving Revlon Colorstay, I decided it was time to branch out into some other foundations. This was the first one I picked up and I certainly wish I had done more research before purchasing. I have dreadfully oily skin that is extremely difficult to manage, and almost impossible to keep matte all day. This foundation never even set correctly on my face, leaving it an oily mess until I tried to ameliorate the situation with setting powder. No such luck-I was a shiny greasy disgusting mess within a couple of hours, and the coverage I had upon initial application was completely gone. I will certainly compliment the product in the amount of coverage that I am sure people with normal or dry skin experience-it is thick enough for great coverage without being too cakey. Application (with a sponge) was very smooth - I found that the product was easy to blend, was buildable, and did not streak or clump. However, again, for oily skin, this was just a disaster. I wanted to like this product but I cannot - maybe in twenty years when my skin has calmed down a bit. The color range of this product was fairly extensive, always a plus for the drugstore. Also - regarding packaging - I am sick and tired of the typical drugstore foundation packaging-glass that is far too thick, and no pump. This is misleading, bulky, and extremely unhygienic. I would love to see thinner glass and pumps on more foundations in the drugstore. I wish that drugstore makeups would step it up in the realm of products for oily skin, because products like these do not cut it at all. I can not give it a solid thumbs down; however, because I discovered promising features that I think would suit other skin types. — 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Sheer and oily
This foundation is cheap, which seemed like a plus at first, but you get what you pay for. It's very sheer and somewhat oily. If I applied moisturizer before this foundation, I was an oil slick. I learned to cleanse my face and apply the foundation on dry skin. Still, I ended re-applying the powder all day as the foundation wore off. The powder from this line is also very cheap and it shows. — 1 year, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Good
I noticed a lot of people complaining about the oily look and feel of the foundation. I fix this problem by swiping some pressed powder over it for added coverage, and to make it a little less pale. It is the winter, so 115 is a pretty good match for me this time of year, but I like adding a little more matte effect and color with the powder. It has SPF 18 built in, so I don't have to worry about forgetting to protect my skin. I occasionally break out a little from it I think or the combination of it and a really drying cleanser I have been using lately, but it's always like one zit like once a month, so it's not enough to really bother me. I have dry to combination skin. Generally in the winter it is dry, and in the summer it is combination. This might drive me up a wall in the summer time if there's a lot of humidity, but its perfect for the cold weather, it's somewhat moisturizing. Best of all it is cheap, and the bottle has lasted me a really long time. It is not a perfect ten because it can be a little more oily than I'd like sometimes, and it is easy to rub off, but usually once it's set with some powder it stays as long as I could reasonably expect it to. — 1 year, 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 3 people said helpful

Nice color selection but...
...it left my skin looking a little "flat." It may be because it has more of a matte coverage. — 1 year, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 1 people said helpful
