My Mouth Waters for This Stain!
When I first read Tarte's claim that their "LipSurgence Lip Tint" increases lip moisture by 6000% I laughed aloud! Did they think I was born the day before or that I had just fallen from the turnip truck? What lip tint could be so moisturizing? I don't have a homemade lip-o-meter to measure the difference, but it truly is akin to applying balm rather than color, yet you actually do both. Yes, lips are actually softened and remain so. The mint gives a gentle, most pleasant tingling sensation. The shades are delectable; I have several and grab up the occasional kits they offer at Sephora with a variety for a mere $28.00. "Charmed" is the ultimate in flattering light pinks. "Enchanted" is a fantasy rose. There is a zesty red hue, while "Moody" is a becoming berry--not too dark, even for the most fair-skinned. "Swank" is a sophisticated berry-red. It is essential to exfoliate lips first for the most even application. If you don't have a lip exfoliator, simply brush your mouth gently with a very soft-bristled toothbrush and a paste of brown sugar; be certain to hydrate well overnight. "LipSurgence" flows on sheerly and can be used as a wash of color on cheeks if blended well. The staying power is not as strong as with some brands (a hint of color remains for a long time), and so reapply as needed for a fresh glow and additional comfort. Applause, applause to Tarte for a product which exceeds its claims and is highly addictive! — 2 months, 4 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 17 of 17 people said helpful

2 in one
Not only is this a lip stain, but you can use it as a blush, too, if you blend it quickly. Product really lasts, and good color selection. — 1 year, 5 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 13 of 14 people said helpful

Very Good.
This is the lip product I've been I've spent years looking for! The color is great, and so is the texture and finish. Not only is the mauve shade a great match for my natural lip color--the feel and appearance of the stain are also very natural. I can wear it without that "there's something on my lips" feeling. The texture certainly isn't sticky or waxy. And unlike matte lipsticks I've tried, the matte finish doesn't suck the moisture out of my lips. And the shape of the product makes it a sinch to apply. Yes, it's ridiculously overpriced. But it had the exact qualities I'd been search for, so I bought it anyway. In short, this is the first lip color that I may wear everyday, and not just at special occasions. Just be warned, this will definitely not work well with flaky lips. Ever since I got it I have been wearing it everyday with everything. I apply it straight to my dry lips first by lining and then by filling in. It goes on slick and has a minty smell and feel, but then it seems to freeze and dry, a similar effect that the Revlon ColorStay lipsticks have, but you can still move it around a little bit so it is less drying. And then it wears for a few hours, which I think it impressive. An hour later and it is still there. Two hours later and just a bit has worn off. Three hours later and there is still pigment - I could touch up if I felt like but don't have to. You get the picture. I'm going to look into other colors and see if I have a few more color options. I bought this because I read the Kat Dennings wears this shade in 2 Broke Girls, and since I have the same coloring as she does I thought it would look nice. And I was right. The color is this really pretty mauve-y plum color. It goes on really smooth and has a subtle mint feel/taste to it. I have very pale skin (NC15-NC20) and this really darkens them up without making me look dead. I will definitely repurchase and look at some other choices as well. I really like this lip stain. I purchased mine from a popular cosmetic store in a 3 pack kit. It was a good deal because the kit had a special price and then I used an additional 20% off coupon so it was worth it. The color is a neutral on me but a little better. I like it for my minimal makeup look as I normally prefer super duper glossy glosses. This Envy stick is easy to apply and makes for a great "keep in your pocket" lip touch up. I love anything Tarte makes, so I was excited to try this product. I loooooove lip stains, and am always on the search for the perfect one. This one is really different. Most stains are either a liquid, or a marker type, but this one is a chubby crayon. It goes on very smooth, and boy does it stay put! A few things wrong, though: The color Envy looked gorgeous in the store. When I put it on this morning, it looked like a very, very light nude. I'm a color gal, so this won't work for me! I gave it to my partner, and it turned a gorgeous coppery brown on her. Brat! I did buy it in another color, Fiery, and I got my color fix. It's a very bright red. I wish it came in deeper colors. The other drawback is the packaging. The top is super difficult to remove. Although it's a bit pricey, I do like the velvety matte finish, and would purchase the red again. I got this in a boxed set from Sephora last summer and I really love it! I definitely want more colors because, as the reviewer before me stated, this one is a bit more natural. I would repurchase it though. It's perfect for those days when I really feel like I need something on my lips, but I don't want them to look overdone. It's also great for days that I don't have time to reapply, like at school or work. I really love how this stays on for hours and leaves a nice color even when the glossiness fades. It's very moisturizing and feels incredible on the lips. The smell is also amazing! It's somewhere between sweet mint and vanilla. I just can't say enough good things about these. Even if this shade isn't for you, you should really try at least one shade from this line! Looks pretty on, but it's a lot lighter than I thought it would be when I swatched it on my hand in the store. I know the skin on my hand is lighter than the color of my lips, but based on what I sampled, I was expecting a more pigmented nude/beige/browny color, and it turns out a very sheer, light, beige-y peach. Not a bad color once it's layered up, though I must say it takes a LOT of painting on. I do love the way it feels --rich, creamy, glossy. And the smell and flavor are pleasing as always. I won't repurchase this because the color is so light, but I will try a couple of the matte shades, even though I know they can be drying. I am still searching for the perfect color in this Tarte line. Love the concept and the benefits of these products. Bottom line: if you like sheer/light/barely there color, try this one. If you want real color, keep shopping. — 1 year, 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 18 of 19 people said helpful
