Great for oily skin!
This is one of the top drugstore primers that I have used. It created a matte finish to my skin and helped my foundation glide on. I used this for my sister's wedding. Since I was a bridesmaid and there was a professional photographer, I was impressed on how well my makeup lasted throughout the day. In the middle
Unlike a regular primer, this one is thicker than I'm used to so I found myself using more than I wanted to. It didn't exactly blend the way I would have liked it to; I noticed some streaks left over, I had to make sure it wasn't showing too much. Once it was on, however, I was fine with it. I have very oily skin so after about 2-3 hours I have to remove oil and re-apply sometimes, but this actually held in place for almost the entire work day. Wow!!
i LOVE this primer! i have no complaints about the product itself, it makes my face feel perfect before i apply my foundation, its not at all oily or greasy like other primers, it makes my small pores completely disappear, its amazing. I have several issues with this product, all of which add up to making it completely unusable to me. First off, it's so thick! I assume you're just supposed to use a tiny amount, given the very small container, but it's hard to get such a teeny bit of paste-like product to cover your entire face. Even using a little, I felt too much like I could "feel" it there. Second, it didn't set well. I have relatively oily skin, and it felt like my powder absorbed the primer, leaving nothing to help me combat shine throughout the day. I also felt that because of the fact that it stayed balmy, after a few hours, it made my foundation really visible on my skin, with a wierd texture. Last, the packaging for this stuff is ridiculously impractical. A thick paste to be scooped out of a jar? A tube would make sense. This just means a good portion of the product you pay for is going to end up under your fingernail. And speaking of paying - it's much too expensive for how much you get in the jar relative to how much you have to use. Best primer!
I was a bit reluctant to try this because I have oily skin and wasn't sure how it would work. I was pleasantly surprised because this didn't break me out at all! Worth a try
I did actually like this product even though it was a little thick. I found that a little really goes a long way with this product and when I use a small amount and spread a thin layer, it does a wonderful job of evening out my skin texture without feeling too heavy, especially if I moisturize first. I also find that it's quite build-able so you can add more as needed. I have used Smashbox's Photo Finish Primer and MAC's Primer and I liked Smashbox's primer a tiny bit better just because it feels lighter but in terms of how well it works there is not really a huge difference between the three for me. it's ok
i like this primer but it's not my favorite. PROS: makes skin smooth, keeps makeup in place, silky consistency CONS: it's very thick, doesn't glide on easily, and for $13 you don't get a lot of product. Ladies! Let me just start by saying this is not the primer I wanted. I went to the store with the intention on buying Revlon PhotoReady Primer but three stores later they were all out. So, I settled on the L'oreal Studio Secrets. I was really blown away! Firstly the price was cheaper, secondly it held my entire makeup application in place. Initially, I thought the cream was a little thick, which scared me because I have combination skin (mainly an oily t-zone). But, hours later, I did not have to blot or re-apply any of my makeup. This is such an awesome product and I'm happy I "settled" on it. LOL! Hope you enjoy it as much as I do. not for me
