Works better on newer acne with oily skin

I have several spots on my face scarred from the acne I experienced in my youth. I have tried many products, but I have not found anything really effective. Even though this mark treatment did not work well on the old spots (which are much darker than my newer acne scars), it seemed to fade my newer reddish acne scars a bit. What I liked about this product is the price. I think I paid about $7. What I did not like about is that it made my skin a bit itchy due to the increased dryness. I bought this being desperate to get rid of a mark on my face and while I was expecting it to be gone in a few weeks, i could barley notice it after 2 hours.
