Yves Saint Laurent Beauty Parisienne Eau de Parfum Spray Reviews

Doesn't last
First I will start off with the things I actually liked about this new perfume: very feminine scent but not too floral. Now on to the bad including the bad quality of this perfume and the fact that it's not a complex scent. All I can smell is blackberry in this perfume and no roses or anything else for that matter. I was really disappointed with how quickly it disappeared because with three sprays, I could not detect even a hint of this fragrance on me after two hours!!! That, in my opinion is poor quality perfume and should be labeled as a body mist. — 3 years, 7 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 1 people said helpful

Not a fan
I did not care for this fragrance at all. The initial scent was much too sweet for my taste--I found the fruity/berry note overpowering. It mellowed after a few hours, and it smelled ok at that point, but the scent was so faint that I could only smell it if I literally held my nose right up to my arm. I would not purchase it in the future. — 3 years, 7 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Okay, but not amazing
I too received this as a sample to review for Totalbeauty and I wanted to wear it for a couple of days before making a firm decision. This fragrance is not one that I will run out to buy (not like Marc Jacobs Lola which I DID run out to buy). It begins with a strrong rose and berry scent and lasts quite a long time. By late afternoon I can only smell a powdery scent with some sweetness. I have to give it stars for staying powder but the berry scent is too overpowering for me and the fragrance overall just doesn't fit me or my personality. I think my grandmother would love it though. — 3 years, 7 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 1 people said helpful

eh... wasn't thrilled with it
I'm going along with the other reviewers here: this scent is WOODSY! I usually go for muskier, slightly floral scents (think the "sexies" at bath and body works) so this perfume isn't my favorite. Others said it smelled fine when they first put it on then turned gross later; I had the opposite experience. I hated it at first, but later it didn't seem too bad. However, it's so light that even if you love the fragrance, you'll probably be disappointed because it fades so quickly! — 3 years, 7 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 1 people said helpful

Yummy
When I first put this on, I was SURE I wasn't going to like it -- not a big fan of 'rose' scents! But that 'topnote' recedes quickly and the middle notes start coming thru. I have had alot of complements when wearing this - but in a 'you smell good!' sort of way instead of "Your cologne smells good"! — 3 years, 7 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 1 people said helpful

Not Same As Magazine Sample
For some reason the magazine sample smelled sooooo amazing that i couldn't get enough of this scent...but for some reason, the actual perfume doesn't smell as great. First I went to Sephora and spritzed it on myself and it went from a classy perfume to a really cheap rosy smell...my boss even commented negatively. Very clingy. I figured maybe it was my body chemistry. I went back and sprayed it on the sampler paper and carried it around, again it wasn't that great of a smell...Not sure why the magazine ads smell so good and this scent is so disappointing. Rosy, yes ...but nothing like what the commercial or marketing project. — 1 month, 3 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Modern meets classic
When I think of YSL fragrances, I think of classics like Opium and Paris, both of which my Mom wore ages ago! The newest Yves Saint Laurent perfume, Parisienne seems to be more a modern take on classic– the damask rose-based floral has a slightly mysterious and edgy side with all things feminine in between. My first impressions of Parisienne were favorable, the sparkling blend of blackberry and cranberry was unmistakable! As the middle notes began to take shape, a more classic fragrance was revealed through the harmony of damask rose, violet, and peony notes. Once Parisienne reached the base notes, it became more reminiscent of the old YSL classics to me and got just a little too heady with patchouli and vetiver. It was pleasant after dry down, but in a perfect world– if it would have stopped in the middle I would have been as pleased as punch! After some time had passed, I was left with a faint touch of cranberry, rose, and blackberry which was a nice finishing touch, so all was not lost! The Parisienne bottle is one part classic, one part modern as is the fragrance itself and has a nice weight to it. Slightly etched, the bottle’s surface is said to resemble the labyrinth of Parisian streets. For me personally, Parisienne wouldn’t be my “everyday†fragrance of choice because of the bottom– but once it wears down and everything comes together, Parisienne becomes very feminine and delicate again. — 3 years, 7 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 2 people said helpful

Learn to love it
This product was something that I disliked at first, but I started to like it after a while of using it. It has a rose scent which is something I like. Also the scent is in my opinion for adults more than a teen perfume because it can be a bit strong at first. Another great thing is that it lasts all day! — 3 years, 5 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Sweet & Gritty
At the first spritz this fragrance is Rose, sweet rose, very sweet. Not my first choice for my personal fragrance. However within minutes it turns to a blackberry scent with a bit of sandlwood scent to tone down the sweetness. I think that the fragrance is complex, but on the subtle sweet side, fortunately there is the sandlewood to tone it down. The lingering scent is not so strong as to knock someone out, which is good for the work place, or anywhere else for that matter. It is certainly not an In-your-face fragrance, which reminds me of a refined scent for a refined woman. It is likely not for someone who is too young, and perhaps not for someone who is too old either, but for someone right in the middle. — 3 years, 7 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 1 people said helpful

Great Scent
I happen to really like this scent. It is a tad bit heavy for me but smells very feminine and great. It lasts a long time, and can be smelt immediately (not a scent where you have to strain to locate it). I am not sure if I would buy it, but I will use the sample. Very pretty. — 3 years, 7 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 1 people said helpful
