John Frieda Awakening Strength Restoring Conditioner Reviews

Works great on my hair
Just like their matching shampoo, this conditioner has a mild minty scent. I noticed that the results are much better when I leave this on my hair for a few minutes longer. My hair looks shiny and feels soft after using the shampoo and conditioner. I don't see any difference on my hair roots or scalp, but my hair certainly looks healthier and less frizzy. When I use this shampoo and conditioner, I don't even need my regular intensive treatment or mask routine. — 3 years, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Pass
This is an average conditioner at best. It smells like other John Frieda products with a tiny hint of mint. It left my hair shiny, but frizzy. If you must use the Root Awakening line, use the conditioner. Mint Oil and Eucalyptus are known skin irritants which does not bother me as much in the conditioner as the shampoo or detangler because it does not really contact my skin too much, just the ends of my hair and rinses out. But with the not so great performance and potential irritation and discomfort, why not try a different product altogether? There are much better, even less expensive formulations nearby on the drugstore shelf. — 3 years, 7 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 1 people said helpful

omg!!!
for a long time my hair was really dry and had a really burnt smell from my hair dryer (and i was using a heat protectant) but then i picked this conditioner up at Ulta (i had tried it once before) and it completely refreshed my ends and i also had purchased a new blow dryer but i had used the conditioner about 4 weeks before i got the new blow dryer. The shampoo just completely gave my ends a boost and smells like mint but is not overbearing! — 1 year, 5 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Smells nice, but nice doesn't get the job done.
I bought this conditioner hoping it would do what it claimed on the bottle, which is strengthen my hair and help prevent breakage. I have been using Tresemme shampoo and conditioner for as long as I can remember now, and wanted to branch out a little and see if other products work better. I was not impressed with John Frieda's Root Awakening line. I feel as though it has not strengthened my hair in the slightest, much less even done the bare minimum of conditioning it as a regular conditioner would and should. After using this conditioner my hair feels very rough and is always super tangled. I will say that it does have a very pleasant scent to it though. The Eucalyptus and peppermint scents are very nice with an added perfumey scent, that does leave my hair smelling great. However the line's name "Root Awakening" is not very accurate either...I've tried a Paul Mitchell line that has peppermint that was much stronger and felt like it REALLY was "awakening" your roots. All in all I feel as though $6-7 (depending on where you purchase it) for an 8 ounce bottle of conditioner is too much to pay for something that doesn't even do the bare minimum of what a conditioner should do for your hair. — 1 year, 11 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Not impressed
It's no miracle. Just a very smelly conditioner. It was way too minty to use everyday. I didn't notice a real difference to the growth of my hair nor any real change in strength either. I would recommend John Frieda's Luxurious Volume line instead. It's not minty and it's great for volume! — 2 years, 11 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

unhappy!
i bought this thinking it was going to be amazing, even a review on youtube said it was the best thing theyve ever tried. i feel like it doesnt get conditioned at all when i use it, and they make it seem like the smell of it will invigorate you and just wake you up, but not at all. its an extremely light scent. :[ i did not enjoy it — 3 years, 10 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful
