There are two words that best describe this candle – tart and sweet. I know that those sound like a contradiction in terms and they are, but that is what makes this candle smell so good. A pure cranberry smell on its own is very tart and can even lean a little bitter in scent. This candle really captures the cranberry, but the chutney part of the candle is sweet and helps to cut out the bitterness. The result is a smell that I unexpectedly really enjoy. It is unlike any other candle I have smelled, and I really appreciate that unique quality. I tend to burn this most during the fall as it smells fresh but still season appropriate. This candle can get a little heavy if left to burn too long, so I wouldn’t recommend burning it for more than an hour or so.
